Staffords arm talent is still elite. Flat footed, feet pointed the other way, throws a perfect pass only our receiver can get25 yards down the sideline. Until his arm talent falls off you focus on his protection. Keep him upright he will take us where we want to go.
I was going to say something similar. Like- as long as Stafford is making the throws that he has been making, the Rams are fine at QB. He hasn’t shown any signs of fading.
To think... I became a Rams fan because I liked their helmets and that "Roman Gabriel" was a cool name...:laugh2:

Also because they beat the Bears and my older brother beat me up...:fistbump1:
I loved that name too.
I'm not sure where the Rans will go with 2024 draft picks but our offense looks nothing like what McVay had when he first came to the Rams. And that's not a criticism, but those jet sweeps were sort of effective in slowing down the whiners at times.
McVay has altered his scheme every other year to try to stay ahead of the latest NFL defensive trends. That’s one of my favorite things about him. His adaptability is something that has evolved. We didn’t see it in his first three years.

Here's the thing about McVay's scheme.. from what I understand from listening and reading other people talking about it.

It's actually a shit-ton like 2018.. but also completely different. It's the same in that it uses primarily 11 personnel and a shit ton of movement and doing multiple plays from the same basic look.

It's completely different in that the run game has been completely reconstructed to attack what defenses are primarily showing today. He's built an offense that can destroy light boxes in the run game and, because of his design.. he can force teams into those light box looks.

Yeah and ironically this is our strongest offense of McVay's tenure in terms of its playoff readiness. Ironic because this probably isn't the team that can win a title, and the offense that did win the title was very imbalanced in terms of its passing potency.

But it should make for a fun playoff game. Or maybe two. If we get in of course.

Yeah, this seems to be the year of the defenses across the league. Scoring is down.

I think this offense is good enough to win a Super Bowl based on the way they played the Ravens. But this defense is not up to par with the top teams.

This run game is basically what many fans have been wanting for years now. I know I have. It’s so nice to have a 3rd and 2 and feel like it’s likely to become a first down, if they call a run play. A few years ago, that wasn’t the case.

He's in that same groove he was in for the playoffs. Just goes to show an old gunslinger can hyper focus when the chips are down.

It doesn’t matter what anyone thinks about Staffords current/future play level; nor what any fancy stats say.

What matters is what McSnead thinks. They both clearly believe in Stafford. End of story.

Now backup QB could be back in play (like it was last offseason) due to the BS situation.

Rams QB Matthew Stafford makes odd NFL history in win over Saints.

After another convincing performance in a 30-22 win over the New Orleans Saints on "Thursday Night Football," Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford made some unique NFL history.

Stafford threw for 328 yards in the victory but connected with only four different receivers. According to OptaStats, he's the first QB since Jim Kelly for the Buffalo Bills in 1992 to throw for over 300 yards while targeting no more than four receivers in a game.

He may not have spread the ball around, but Stafford made the passes he threw count against the Saints. While tight end Tyler Higbee (three catches, 30 yards) and explosive wideout Cooper Kupp (six catches, 52 yards) had respectable outings, receivers Demarcus Robinson and Puka Nacua took the top of the New Orleans' defense.

Robinson found the end zone for the fourth week in a row, recording six catches for 82 yards (13.7 YPC). Meanwhile, Nacua had a night to remember, finishing with nine catches for 164 yards (18.2 YPC) and a score.

All in all, Stafford had an extremely efficient game. Along with his 328 yards through the air, he completed 24-of-34 pass attempts (9.6 YPC) with two TDS.

The 8-7 Rams are squarely in the NFC playoff race, thanks mainly to Stafford and the offense's turnaround. Through Week 10, they were scoring only 19 points per game. The offense is averaging 30 points and 406 yards of total offense since Week 11.

Unsurprisingly, Stafford's numbers reflect the team's improvement. Following the Rams' Week 10 bye, they were 3-6, and their QB had nearly as many interceptions (7) as touchdowns (8). However, Stafford has rounded back into form, throwing 15 TDs with only two interceptions over the last six games.
