Our game against Green Bay was a helpful reminder of just how much MS brings to the table.

Matthew Stafford is the other Tier 2 quarterback of note. He appears reborn after age and injuries dragged him down last season.

“You could make him a 1,” an opposing defensive coach said. “He is still the Matthew Stafford of 10 years ago. Elite arm, tough as can be, will take shots, get up and keep slinging it. Will throw you a pick. Wherever you felt Stafford has been in his career — usually, people will say he is a 1 that will play to the level of a 2 at times — that is still where I would say he is at. He is a competitor. I weirdly hope he does not retire. He is good for the game.”

What's funny is calling him a 1 doesn't quite encompass what he did in that title run. Because there are guys we consider to be 1's who will probably never play at that level to hoist a title. That stretch of games as one run was fucking incredible.

But all that aside I still want a young QB behind him. Because as good as Wentz might be with McVay trying to redeem him there's a reasonable to good chance he will disappoint. It's not like Philly had poor coaching after all, and I respect Frank who also jettisoned his ass. What I want is 3 deep at that position. QB1, QB2, and QBoF. That futures guy might not develop but we might not need him either.

What's Stafford's QBR this season? Or are we just using only completion percentages in this thread? His EPA?

Wentz is bad. He's just a better bad than Rypien.

Pssst... he had a better completion percentage last year in games played than Stafford this year.

Bet you want him now, dontcha!

I've seen a number of clips of MS throwing no-look passes over the years, and I believe he always throws them to his left, across his body. Never to the right.
The screen to Davis Allen yesterday was a no-look-pass to Stafford's left.

Doubt very much it happens. McVay will put resources around Matt until he quits then he'll address QB.
IMO The Rams have one of The Best backup QB’s there is in The NFL!!!

I don’t know Carson Wentz future, but his leadership at the position is something Sean Mcvay likes.I’ve always liked the veteran QB’s vs a rookie.

For some reason I still believe Stinson Bennett might be back next year & could be that extra backup QB Mcvay likes as well ??

Call me crazy but that’s what I believe for now.The still is a lot of season left & I never get how Fans can’t just enjoy that.

I still believe The Rams have a chance to win the Superbowl.I’d say Mcvay might have to get rid of this young Kicker though?

His accuracy has been pretty bad against anybody decent the last 5 outside of 3 win team. He’s 19TD/9INT’s this year. Last year 10/8.

He hasn’t had this low a completion % since his rookie and second year.

The aging progression is happening unfortunately.
Uh, Cleveland and Baltimore 3 win teams? With bad defenses? Are we watching the same games?

Not arguing with the numbers, and age catches-up with all players. However, when I read this post, I thought ... "Is Corbin watching the games?" ... then I realized you started this thread in the middle of the Rams' game.

So maybe, that's my answer ... you are looking at numbers but not the games or Stafford's actual play.
