He's always been streaky and locks in on targets. When he's on he's on. But, when he's off, he's average.
Agree - at times I wonder about his reads.Sometimes he has no pockets presence, but all in all he is still a HOF QB.
The Offensive Line really needs to protect him though. He doesn’t make those special plays on his own with a pass rush.He takes a lot of tough hits. That’s the scary part.

Of course who wouldn't want Mahomes or Stafford as their QB? But getting and paying an elite QB is super difficult and super expensive. And drafting is such a crap shoot.

I always have this argument with my buddies, but I think the value method to build a championship team is to focus on a stud O-Line through free agency and the draft. The QB can be a mid round pick or a former first rounder down on his luck, like Darnold or Daniel Jones for example. Behind a stellar O-line, I think most NFL caliber QBs would become stars. And if they don't, there's plenty more to choose from.

So yes. Draft O-line. Pay O-line. Then find a QB that will stick.
We already have that sitting on our bench in JimmyG! Fix this O'line and Stafford will be fine for another 2-3 years. Then have Jimmy take over.

Jimmy is on the older side. What about Stetson Bennet?

This is silly. Talking about the draft because of week 3. Did anybody notice Noteboom playing for the Ravens Monday night? Not injured and it's 3 games into the season. Why would you use draft assets to take a tackle this past draft when you have Hav and Jackson as your starters? To back up?
Because Havenstein is nearing the end of his long storied career and Jackson still has a blood clot issue they're dealing with.
We're only one tackle injury away from going with some inferior offensive lineman out there.
I've always thought that the offensive line is the most important unit on the team and you can never go wrong with trying to upgrade it.

Centre is not worth a 1st round pick. You can find them later in the draft. But I'd definitely use one of our 1st round picks on o-line if we are not trading up for a QB. In fact, if the Rams don't see a QB they like, I would even double dip on o-line if that is how the draft boards fall with best players available at our selections and we don't trade into new spots. Hav will need a replacement soon.

They were keeping Lampkin, Eagles stole him. Folks need to keep this straight
Lampkin was a nice story, but for the next 5 yrs or so, Philly is the obstacle to a SB. Do you really want a 5'10 280 lb C going against two 330 lb DT's? I don't see that as an ideal match up, thus not too upset that they moved on.
