Same way Rams get beat every year, passive Defensive Coordinators. We need a proactive one, Rex Ryan would make this Defense into a REAL factor.

BUT, thats not happening, of course, because all Head Coach hirings are now done, and, too bad for us, nobody bit on our overrated Defensive Coordinator. Thought Shula with the famous last name and "top defense" (LOL) all year long was a shoe-in? Wonder what happened????

I highly doubt that he would, unless that's what Ratboy wants. My guess would be that his defense in SF will be a lot more aggressive than it was here.

Shula because he did a good job with very little talent at CB. That's not easy to do. Both would run the bend but don't break D that McVay wants so really no difference there.

With all things equal?

Raheem had AD, Ramsey and Von.

Shula basically has minimum wage NFL players, albeit some good ones.

Just a brief aside on the 49ers-hate ... and, my hatred originated in 1970 and 1971 when the Niners barely edged the Rams for the Division title; and then went-on to the NFC Championship Game both years.

The 49ers' QB was veteran John Brodie ... and he was a very good quarterback for that time.

Did not realize until just now that Brodie passed-away earlier this week at ninety. At that age, life is more of a celebration in my opinion.

Despite my Niners-hatred (which I will put-up against any Rams' fan) ... Rest In Peace John Brodie.

That sounds about right for me as well. I was a single digit lad when I chose the Rams over the local team—the 9ers. Brodie was the QB.
…but I thought he had died of cancer MANY years ago.
Apparently I was mistaken.

I remember tickets were cheap during the 70s and I had a couple of friends who invited me to go with them to a game with their dad. I rooted so hard for whoever they played…I was never asked invited again.

The Rams defense did enough to win the game once again.Kick the FIELD GOAL instead of giving the ball up deep in the Hags side of the field. -Plus run the ball one more time & get the FIRST DOWN up by FOUR before half.

I want them to have THE LAST POSSESSION OF THE HALF, score or not. Thats playing clock. Thats part of Football. A BIG part.

Especially when THEY get the ball to start the 2nd Half.

Those first 2 plays should have been runs while also using most of the 40-second play clock.

We disagree about the aggressive vs. conservative approach on the end-of-half possession.

I TOTALLY disagree with your opinions on McVay, who I would not trade for any other current head coach.
