Both parties lost it, but ayuck got paid.

The 9ers overpaid by a ton. At the time, ayuck was nowhere near a top 10, not even top 15 WR. Too many good prospects come out every year. The WR market was betraying basic economics and the 9ers bit.

After a lengthy holdout, with some vitriol included, ayuck ended up re-signing with a team to whom he was not loyal. He was just chasing $$.

Now the 9ers are stuck with a big contract and a me-first player while ayuck rides his salary as vindication of his perceived talent level.

He will be out of football before the contract ends.

I love that Aiyuk got his clock cleaned against the Rams on their desperation play just as the game ended in the Rams first win against the whiners last season. :)

That was a serious injury. Both the ACL and MCL. Its possible he may never be the same. Heck, he was not the same before the injury after missing almost all of camp. Combine that with the lack of motivation he seems to have, I don't see him being a factor when he returns.

Watched Colin Cowherd with Nick Wright. They both are not high on Purdy. Saying the same thing I've been saying. He was great in that QB friendly system surrounded with all pro talent. Take some of that away and we saw the results. Wright thinks the #14 ranking will be lower after this season after his limitation are exposed with marginal talent around him. But, like Aiyuk he got paid. So its all good.

Agreed. Imagine if the whiners had stolen Stafford from us? They would probably have won at least one super bowl if not more with the talent they had at the time.

Stafford showed real greatness, IMO in the game winning drive in super bowl 56. I believe if OBJ hadn't gone down, the Rams blow out the bengals. But it turns out that drive showcased how good Stafford can be,

Yup. That is why McVay wanted him instead of Goff. He did not have confidence Goff would come up big in those moments. And I thank the football gods every day for McVay being in Cabo at the right time. If he went to the hated ones they coulda been the only team with a threepeat.

Two things about purdy.
1) he’s a smart, a great pre-snap reader, busts his ass, and maintains a calm demeanor. There’s a reason why a 7th round pick just got paid.
2) he’s got a 7th round arm. The Rams are counting on jimmyg-string to back up Stafford? G-string struggles on the the 12-15 yard out. Most of his picks are on that throw. Go back and review his INTS, I dare you. THAT IS A BREAD AND BUTTER THROW. Your team won’t go anywhere if your QB can’t make that throw.
I saw krapernick in person at candlestick—twice! He couldn’t make that throw in a tight window to save his life. purdy struggles with routine, big arm, throws.

Bottom line? purdy won’t take the 9ers anywhere they aren’t set up to take HIM. As with his choke artist HC, pressure/$$ on line games, the 9er QB and HC is a match made in heaven…
For Rams fans.
