Now, if the 49ers and Purdy have agreed upon the terms of his deal, they actually can finalize it. This will be the most lucrative contract the 49ers ever have given to a player. They've never had to put this much money into an escrow account at one time before.

That’s a pretty good list, but if he picks up where left off in his rookie season, I’d add Verse to that list of disruptors.
I would imagine that at this point very few if any team would trade Verse for Bosa. Verse has the potential to be one of the elite pass rushers, at best Bosa will move towards the player he once was rather than continuing to decline.
Glad the Rams have Verse

So the Chargers are getting ready to sell 8% and they get a bye line at the end of the article while the whiners 6.2 is the focus of the article.

That’s what the world thinks of Spanos.

it’s the Purdy effect.

In the NFL, when a team signs a player, that team has to put that player's guaranteed money into an escrow account. Purdy's extension most likely will contain roughly $160 million in total guarantees. That's a lot of cash.

And the 49ers probably didn't have much liquidity before selling this stake in their franchise considering they also own two soccer teams -- Leeds United and Rangers FC. And those teams are expensive to run and maintain.

Now, if the 49ers and Purdy have agreed upon the terms of his deal, they actually can finalize it. This will be the most lucrative contract the 49ers ever have given to a player. They've never had to put this much money into an escrow account at one time before.
Yep. I respect Purdy's game but they're in a tough situation when it comes to locking up so much of your team's cap in him. I would rather trust in Shanny's ability to make any QB look decent behind that strongly balanced run/pass attack than pay that kid.

So now the owner's bringing in money to help shoulder the load. And hopefully it will lead to Shanny's ouster because I am goddamn tired of Ratboy being in SF.

Verse is as talented, stronger, got the mean disposition you need to play that spot, the edge.
Bosa seems like a cool dude, but he's too laid back. Gotta have more the mean streak.

Was hoping they'd give him 60 mil. But 53 mil per year does take a chunk of their cap space. And they don't have the same talent around him they had a couple years ago. I see them going the same route as the Cowboys. Borderline playoff team a key injury or two away from a losing season. Because they had to pay their quarterback.

The question is, would you sign a $265 million dollar contract to play for the 49ers?

I would

Lead the league in interceptions, sacks and fumbles, and laugh all the fuckin way to the bank

That's my answer to if I could play for the Cheatriots. I'd do everything I could to piss off the fans of the team, the players, the front office, etc., and laugh to the bank. Of course, they'd never take a fat lady in a wheelchair, so...whatever.

I think the best part is the guarantee. Not only did they have to sell part of the team to do it, odds are Purdy won’t be a true franchise QB. I’d love nothing better than for them to have to use a 1st rounder or two on a replacement after we get ours.
