Well, one of my takeaways is that it appears -- not sure about this, but it does appear -- that the Rams dislike the niners. Maybe the Rams dislike everybody. Not sure. I would be pleased if the Rams held a special place in their hearts to hate the niners, and if they took special pleasure in the niners losing/pain/death spiral.

But I guess that doesn't really help much. Very frustrating. I prayed with all my might that McDonald would light up Boldin and/or Kapernick. Never happened. Kaepernick smiling and giggling all over the field and the sideline. Boldin running his mouth like a crack ho. Jesus.

Tough to take.

I'm sorry but take those calls away at the beginning and this is a whole different game. It may sound like an excuse but once again, we got screwed by the zebras and we are NOT going to beat a decent team with those kinds of game altering calls and non-calls going against us. So my vent is Freak the refs. I think it is time for Fish to get fined. He absolutely needs to call those fucks out.
On the hit on Boldin with was forearm to head, that is going to get called every single time. Is it b.s. in the sense that is makes a defender so passive as to take away their ability to be effective, yes….was it called the way the rule is written? yes.
Horrific secondary play again. Kaperdoodle has had 4 good passing games this season. GB, Washington and twice vs. St. Louis….our pass D is weak. Neither CB seems able to cover a physical receiver. Our pass rush was ok today….Kap gave the Rams a bunch of sacks by doing his "Im a terrible QB" thing that he does.
The Rams didnt have much of a chance today going into the game with a weakened D. The receivers (Givens and Cook) were terrible today. Possible wins upcoming vs. Cardinals (not likely) and TB. No chance in the other games. So, 5-11 or 6-10. My only concern now is Washington keeps losing.

The defense played good enough to win. Four sacks and a forced fumble. Krappy was on the run all day. They contained Krappy and the Gore to 61 yards combined and 2 TDs. What are you gonna do? That's a great game against the Niners.

I blame Schitty plain and simple.

I could go on and on but I will just make a few points:

He has no idea how to use TA or how often. 1 running play for 10 yards. Apparently that was enough for Schitty. 4 passes, none in the open field. What a genius.

He has no idea that Bailey is better than Givens. How can you call Givens over and over and over and over when he can't catch the ball any more?

Where the Freak was Kendricks? Is he hurt?

Icing on the cake was the STUPID punt fake call deep in our own territory. Just moronic. 10 points down, 14:41 left, 3 time outs, we're defending and driving the ball pretty well, and you call a fake on the SAINT LOUIS 22!?!?!?! Who freaking does that? Retards, that's who. Full blown retards. God bless them.

The Rams had no real chance to win this game before the fake punt. The D would have had to scored or something else, which is possible I guess, but no more likely than executing a fake punt. It was there for the taking and frankly I dont know why Matt didnt just get the ball to Bailey anyway. If the Whiners got the back back and picked up a couple of first downs and punted with under 10 minutes left the game was lost really. The Rams could do very little on offense all day. The oline was short handed. I get why they called the fake punt….what it a desperate act? Hell yes. Was it a bad call, I dont think so really. They were not able to pick up yards in chunks all day….the did have a gift of a play were a DB fell down and Givens dropped the ball on a play that would have been a TD or gotten him very close to the goal line. If you watch the fake punt it was set up perfectly on the right side that was going to be a big play, 30 or more yards….horrible job by the contrain on the left side. As usual breakdowns and penalties did the Rams in. Horrible receiver play also.

The refs, and our receivers for the most part sucked. No Bradford, sucked. Vent over.

whats to vent about ? a superior team beat an inferior team and it was known going in that it would happen.

SF isn't that good among playoff top 10 teams but they are superior to the bottom 15-20 teams per most individual player positions.

The refs, and our receivers for the most part sucked. No Bradford, sucked. Vent over.
The only blantly bad call I saw was the first roughing call on Dunbar. That was nonsense. The rest were called the way they are always going to be called. Our secondary is just plain bad. When we do play tight they are constantly holding. 2 of our top 4 picks should go to DBs and a FA as well.

Personal foul call vs CLong, even though the game was all but over, was infuriating to me. You never see this guy pick a fight for no reason, he only gets into scrums when he takes offense to what an opposing player has done to his teammate.

I don't like to blame refs, but its important to get off to a good start in a hostile environment vs a good team. The refs helped the 9ers to 10 points by extending drives on the Dunbar BS "hit to the helmet" and the Tru "hit to the head of a defenseless WR" on what would have been 4th and 1. We hurt ourselves on our first few drives, and just when it seemed like we were going to get our first drive started with a nice catch by Bailey, it gets called back for OPI. Our WRs didn't help & neither did Kell with his bad throws, but ultimately I blame the refs for the rough start to the game. Like others said, our D played well enough to win

TRUTH

And to just clarify here...

The total bullshit call of Offensive PI on Stedman. The freaking defender kept running downfield,,, he was sure he was about to get burned by Sted and kept sprinting downfield. No way Sted is strong enough to push him 5 yards downfield while the bitch is still running full speed. Should have been a first down and big gain / momentum swing. If that was Offensive PI, I need to have the nfl officiating committee explain to me how every single freaking reception anthony gonzalez has ever made didn't get called-back for Offensive PI.

Then we get called for a personal foul for "hitting a defenseless receiver"... you know, the receiver who is clearly aware of his entire surroundings and fighting for the extra yard needed to get the 1st down. Meanwhile,,, our TE Cook, can get taken out at the knee when he is DEFENSELESS AS Freak... No flag.

ZERO CONSISTENCY BY THE ZEBRAS.

THE NFL IS TAKING LESSONS FROM THE NBA.

LOOK FOR MORE JUDGEMENT CALLS TO BE IMPLEMENTED IN THE OFF-SEASON.

Yup Yup Yup. You are right on on all of your post. Their receiver took 3 flipping steps. No way in hell Bailey was OPI. And yes I knew the refs were from the Carolina game.

We lost but the NFL as we know it Sucks

cant blame the refs for today. After the pre game "skirmish" at midfield, Fisher should have warned his players that the laundry would be flying fast today in order to keep control. A head coach with his experience should know this and coach his players, rookies to veterans, to keep their heads on straight

Can't agree and the reason I can't is TA was returning and could have been receiving and rushing in designed plays. Rams could have won. Schotty was in over his head and gave up.

When we got the ball back and were now down 17 because of his assclown punt fake call with 25% of the game left, it was clear he surrendered. No legitimate effort to make big plays or stop the clock.

Was it all his fault? No, but he ensured rams couldn't win when the game wasn't out of hand.

All true. However the call for the hit to the head vs. Tru was the right call. I am not saying I like the rules the way they are written, but, the way they are written that is going to get called every single time. The ref said "defenseless receiver" but in reality it was the forearm to the head that brought the flag. It was (in my opinion) also a good call on the OPI on the catch by Bailey. Cant let loyalties cloud judgement. If you fully extend your arm into the DBs back in front of the ref it is going to usually get called. The penalties hurt the Rams but they have no one to blame but themselves. Teams will scheme PI into their routes using rubs and picks (see Denver, NE) but when a receiver is that blantant about it he cant be surprised when he gets called.

Schott would not have called the fake punt, that is a call made by the head coach or by the special teams coach based on formation, but, usually that is okd by the HC.

I can not argue that Austin could have busted a long one or a player could have picked up a fumble and scored a TD on D. Its just not likely. It was a desperate act by a team that had next to nothing going on O.

This game left me utterly confused.
1. I thought Tru & Jenks were our longtime answers at CB. After today I'm just not sure. Even the best CB's get beat once in a while, and our scheme doesn't always seem to help but ill be damned if Tru isn't picking up a lot of the same bad habits Jenks has. With double Mc at safety I think we're good for the future but CB seems to be a bigger need than I'd hoped.
2. Cook simply is not Vernon Davis even though he is paid like it.
3. Schotty seems to shrink in the eyes of the big lights and Fish turns college coach gone wild with his terrible clock management and crazy nonsensical approach to game management.
4. Enough with the penalties already

I will say this and it's not really a vent more of a observation.

I have been watching football a long time and Givens an Quick will never be #1 WR's. Forget about Pettis he just lucky to be getting a paycheck. TA? Maybe, but has to play every down. To think that they will is just a pipe dream. They are role players. Bailey might devlop, But if the Rams want to win big they need to get a #1 early in this draft.

Yes. It was a desperate act. I would put the game in the hands of the pass rush and TA myself. Rams were only down 10.

With one of the most exciting players in the NFL, why is he cooling his heels 95% of the game? If we are desperate, why not try using the guy who makes big plays?

A good defense makes every OC look bad.

That said; Schotty did well sticking with the run. Yeah, he called a TA trick pass play... But guys don't get open easy in this offense. To me that's play design.

Oh... And the drops? Dear Rams; watch the final Chiefs drive today. Despite the loss... The WR's made sick catches.

We got to go back to the Buffalo game last year, 4th down, final minute... For an amazing catch!

Givens should see more of the bench.

Givens is a Gibson. a #4 WR, that is IT. Drops crunch time passes. Runs terrible Routes.

We Definitely need a go to Veteran Proven WR.

Tru and Jenk are very good, the scheme is bad. The coaching is lacking. Their positioning and technique is the issue.

We are so close to having a team that competes every year. Need a WR and a safety.

The Oline is light years better than last year. Running on the Niners like that isnt easy. Pass Pro was solid vs the Niners. It was a good Litmus test of just how far the Oline has come. Saffold needs to be signed ASAP.

Take away the penalites and the fake punt fail and this is a game that goes down to the wire. On the road vs the NFC Super Bowl Team. Not bad. With our backup QB.

It was like watching the Steelers vs the Ravens, if the Ravens played with Kellen Clemens and not Flacco.

If Bradford is in there we win this game in a close one.

Better draft pick so no loss.

I agree. He did good sticking with the run. Anyone can call a run up the middle. He's shown that's about all he can do. Watch the weeks when DR was rushing. He's ruined DR.

I would be all for a Givens Bailey swap at this point. Give the college phenomenon a chance.
