Post a pic of your favorite muscle car. I’ve always liked the mid-60’s Ford Mustangs. The fastbacks are cool too.

Not a Muscle exactly

but my favorite car of all time would be the 1977 Monte Carlo

just always thought this car was so cool and elegance , built for the night life

plus , bucket seats are cool , but I would have to go with those those big fluffy bench seats

But i did have one of THESE bad boys. It really was a muscle car. 455 Rocket engine. Used to blow most of the other muscle cars away if I had a rolling start. I actually did my driving test in that car and the mother fucker made me parallel park when he hadn't with any of my buddies and their little econo cars. Dickhead gave me a point off because I turned the wheel and backed slightly into the curb. Y'know... like you are supposed to do on a hill? Yeah... almost 50 years later and I'm still not over it.

Those were not "Muscle Cars" unless there was at least a 390 under the hood. Preferably a 427 or 428 to be a real muscle car. The line was a 389ci or bigger engine with a intermediate body or smaller. Pontiac started it all with a 389 Tri Power 64 GTO. And they ended it too with the 455 Super Duty Trans Am.
I am a die hard Pontiac guy. Race a 69 GTO and own a 79 WS6 400 4 speed Trans Am. Finished a 700 HP Pontiac 461 stroker a couple years ago. No respect for the guys who put LS engines under the hood of old muscle cars either. Just LAME. Not a fan of those who put Big Block Chevies under the hood of their Pontiac either.
65 Mustangs with a 289 were cool and were called Pony Cars like the small block Camaro's were.

I was so into drag racing and muscle cars back in the latter 1990's and up to mid 2000's until kids evaporated that hobby lol... And all the tracks were closing down as well.

I had a 1998 SVT Cobra that I gutted out and turned into a drag car... Changed out the 4.6 DOHC to the 5.4 DOHC (4-Cammer) and went with a full spool to grab every tenth I could. But I got the SVT to run 10.40's with a manual tranny and a Mcleod Sintered Iron clutch disk. The poor flywheel only lasted five passes. I used to buy three at a time... I was constantly under that car changing clutches and clocking that pain in ass Lakewood Scatter Shield..... Nothing Like High Compression Pistons and 75 shot of Dry Nitrous during the launch.

I also had a Factory 5 Daytona that took me two years to build and shoved a stroked out 408 with B-Cam and AFR heads and a TKO plus Tranny.

I have so many favorites... Corvettes probably top the list but Camaros, Mustangs, Pontiac GTO's, Dodge Chargers, Plymouth Barracudas, hell even AMC made a couple of cool cars. Never liked BMWs or Porches back then. But looking at today's cars with 1000 horsepower... WTF! Launch control... Electric vehicles sprinting to 60 in 2 seconds. No offense to the heydays of the 60s and 70s but todays cars are the real muscle cars. What they don't have is style, coolness, nostalgia, and history.

PS - I don't know how to post a picture but if I did.. It would be a 69 Camaro Z28.
