I was the same with Everett. We finally had a QB that wasn't somebody else's leftovers. That was Real excitement.

Hell... I even named my dog Blade.
But.... We didn't draft Blade did we? Wrong Everett?

Haloti Ngata. Imagine my disappointment when we could've drafted him, but instead took Tye Hill.
Ngata went at #12. We drafted Hill at #15. Granted, we could have taken him at #11, but we traded down with the Broncos instead (picking up a third where we drafted future HOFer Claude Wroten). ;)

Byrd TE from USC who broke a teammates jaw in the locker room.
—I HATE when The Rams have a chance to structure their team & are afraid to use the Franchise tag.
Gurley & Goff are examples of why you wait. Holding Out SJ39 sucked, but signing Bulger long term instead.
—The NFL is a QB league & any NFL Fan can see the draft picks & what teams give up to get one.
—Example Rams getting played by Author Blank with Matt Ryan. Why you pick Chris Long instead ? Vick had just gotten convicted as well.
BACK to that Ty Hill pick.Tory Holt was part of the selling point to draft him.I thought Jay Cutler was the guy ,but Ngata was Suh before SUH.

to double down on that horrible trade and picks the rams took carriker instead of revis the next draft seeing they had their cb already. carriker didn't even fit their scheme. man the rams were so bad back then.

I guess for me, it would be Nolan Cromwell. He was just Dreamy.

Wait a second. Did I misconstrue the question? Never Mind.

Seriously though, while Cromwell really was dreamy, mine would be DT Sean Gilbert.
So happy the Colts took DT Steve Emtman first overall in 1992, leaving the Rams with Gilbert at #3 overall. Was expecting the next Merlin Olsen. Turned-out to be the next Phil Olsen.

I didn’t want to trade down. And Claude Wroten was so far off boards that GMs and scouts literally laughed when we took him. Linehan and Zygmunt were laughingstocks. I also wanted Revis in 2007, and we took fucking Carriker (I hate him so much that I don’t even care if I spell his name wrong.) and Brian fucking Leonard.

We could’ve had an elite defense with Ngata, Dumervil, Revis, and Weddle. I was a fucking teenager, and I knew more than Zygmunt.

Not sure about my first draft crush but I do remember being "Crushed" by a Rams draft pick. Lawerence Phillips! I was and am a Cornhusker fan and followed them religiously back in the day. Hell, I was even stationed at Office AFB in Nebraska back in the early 80's and everybody there knew what a complete piece of shit human being this person was. A great collegiate player but a terrible human being. When the Rams drafted him I absolutely knew this would not work out. I was so pissed at the selection.

Sam Bradford. My parents went to OU and I was pumped! .
I’m glad he’s super rich, because he was one unlucky dude with the injuries.

Overall draft crush? I asked my dad when Emmitt Smith was going to be drafted all three years of his college career.

I was stoked too... not because of the OU connection though... it was the fact that he is a First Nation Brudda like me. Plus... my oldest son @Ramrasta could be his twin (minus Sam's lazy eye look).

I'm convinced now that he should have been a MLB pitcher. Watching him fire 180 mph footballs at a receiver 6 yards away from him caused me to believe that.

Sam Bradford could have been a franchise QB with a half decent coach and team. He was throwing to Brandon Gibson, Laurent Robinson, and Danny Amendola. Spags and Pat Shurmur were coaching him. Never got his fair shake after the ACL tear.

Well... Danny A was able to catch his Mach 20 fastballs barehanded. I'd leave him off of that God awful list.

I understand though... I'd defend my twin Brudda too.
