Yeah he is a home run threat on any given play which is what you want in your playmakers. It wouldn't surprise me to see a team trade up for him.
Wanted to help Bubbaram out with his bold prickdicksun.
Wonder about Jay Gruden & his role with The Rams?
Then the connection with Gibson as well. That relationship might matter ?

Keandre Miller, David Achane, and Zach Charbonnet are going to be certainly there for our 2nd and 3rd round picks and if I could have a choice I’d go with Charbonnet or Miller. Fucking dudes are bell cow types and all around solid.

McVay knows he needs a RB and fully expect us to land one of them.

We have a starting RB, his name is Cam Akers !
Replace the 30 y.o. Malcolm Brown with Roshon Johnson with a day 3 draft pick & grab an inexpensive free agent like D'Ernest Johnson who the Rams were looking at during the trade deadline. jmo.

The Rams definitely need a running back. And he has to an every down back like Akers. Akers is done after this year.

The Rams need a RB but a #3 RB that can be had off of FA list or late or mid-round draft. With Akers and Williams they are set at 1 & 2.

I wouldn't say they are set as neither has made it thru one season unscathed. RB is a brutal position and a good one can make a huge difference like Todd Gurley did for us. Not saying we'll get a Todd Gurley, but if McVay and company see one they love as a playmaker, it wouldn't necessarily surprise me if they drafted one with that 2nd round pick. Not saying I would do it, but it's understandable especially with Akers being a FA next year.

D'onta Foreman is a FA that is only 26 years old. He's a big (6' 233 lbs) fast (4.46) RB who also played as a lead blocker (FB) in college. He would be affordable at around vet minimum. He would be better than any mid or late round rookie.

Akers seems to be improving off his Achilles injury so why bench him? Williams showed enough to warrant more snaps. A RB like Foreman would seem to be that short yardage big RB the Rams need. He's also fast enough to bounce outside as well.

As much as I'd love to, we aren't getting Foreman at a vet minimum. Someone is gonna pay well over that for his services. If we can get him at the right price it would be awesome but he's still a young RB someome will pay.

I agree. No consistency whatsoever and no way any of our RB's should be given the keys to starting this next year. We need a reliable RB with game changing ability to get this McVay offense back to what it can do, dominate.

As I've said many times, a dominating RB is the engine that makes this McVay team and offense go.

Achilles injuries take a long time to heal, so that could explain the late season explosiveness.

Having gone back and rewatched the playoff games before each SB of the McVay era, it’s clear how much of a factor Gurley was, despite being less than 100%. A McVay offense revolves around an all purpose, scary RB. Akers has not established that reputation.

Should the Rams acquire a RB capable of being that type of RB, the Rams are in the same boat again with Akers. They will have to trade or release him.

I don’t know about anybody else here, but I didn’t see enough of KW to have a solid opinion—other than to wonder why he wasn’t used more the last few games when so many players were getting a good look. Maybe the Rams were sandbagging?lol.

Side note: the OL/offense was scarier/better in the first SB run, even without Kupp. Stafford would have won us a ring that year too. Goff AND McVay were not up to the task. Too green.
The missed McCaffrey trade. Hopefully there is a back in the draft who fits the mold.

So vet minimum is literally just over 1 mil a year for 5 years of service. He's obvious going to get more than that and this is a projection. All it takes is him getting a contract early in FA to get more than market value which is something we see every year. I gotta think multiple teams are going to want to bid on a big productive back like him. I think he'll get more than 3.4 mil.
