Let's say you're GM and get a call from another team inquiring as to whether he's available. Would you consider it?

I think this might happen. Teams know Rapp can play. Wonder what the Rams would say.

Makes no sense to trade him. No return on investment possible. He’s on a rookie contract, year 2, and producing. Mindful that JJ will likely leave like the other DBs/SS/FS over the past 6-7 years. JMO

what is the offer?

Considering that the Rams used a second round pick on him I'd say no. Its only his second season and there is no way they'd get ample compensation. I wasn't crazy about the pick and I don't see that transcendent of a player, but they may as well let it play out.

Depends on the offered price, yes I’d consider it but doesn’t mean I’d do it.

JJ will be let walk next year and we’ll get a 3rd for him and keep Rapp. In this way we keep Rapp, get a 3rd, either Burgess or Fuller start, and we have a have good quality depth still for at least 2-3 years still.

Equally as important is they’ll all be on Rookie contracts.

I highly doubt the Rams would get an offer that is worth making a Rapp trade.

I do wonder if we overrated his first season. He made plays and made some mistakes too. I'm interested to see how much he plays this year.
Rams may be easing him back from preseason injury as he is getting less than a quarter of the snaps. It could be Kenny Young's play is limiting Rapp's reps. Burgess played strong safety in college and is very fast with cover skills. Something to watch. I wonder how the Rams feel about him taking over for JJ next year.

Gotta remember he was hurt and his backup was playing well. He will be an important piece to this defense this year but no reason to hurry Rapp back.

The Rams defense is going to need to dedicate a spy (and a damn good one) for QB's like Josh Allen, Kyler Murray, Russell Wilson, Cam Newton and possibly in the BOWL vs Patrick Mahomes or Lamar Jackson.

Is Rapp going to be in the rotation for being a spy vs those QB's? Is he even capable or fast enough to be considered?

I thought he was before the season started because of his instincts and sound tackling.

As far a trading Rapp? Only if the value exceeds expectation which it's way too early to know right now.

I'm guessing his snap count goes up in Buffalo but I don't have enough knowledge of

Brandon Staley's defensive scheme to know how Rapp fits the puzzle over the next 3 or 4 games.

I hope Rapp is fully healthy now and doesn't get frustrated by the Rookie Jordan Fuller's emergence.

Nah, I think they let JJ walk so they can save cap space. Rams are deep at safety. Rapp fits into that plan.

This^, love Johnson, but you can't keep everybody, however, if there was not cap, the Rams actually could.
