Poor guy. The Rams just threw him to the bottom of the pitt.

It will be a 7th I'd bet.

I'm surprised we don't see more of these kind of deals, honestly.
Starting to be like the NBA, trading for expiring contracts to get cap room to pick up another free agent. Seems like a dog chasing its tail.

What a shame. Talib and Peters only played a handful of games together as Rams.

So.....saving up for a Ramsey contract...… Or will this be act 2 of what happened 2 weeks ago and we come up w/ Talib's replacement?

Well we all know we aren't signing Ramsey this season, so we are obviously making room for someone else on the roster. Probably a Olinemen or another DB.

The over $4 million in savings rolls over to next season, to pay Ramsey. Talib is hurt, and by the time he's eligible to return (if he can at all) he'd be rusty as all get out

How do we know that?

because the Rams are going to have to free up a hellofvalotmore cap space than 4mil to sign Ramsey. lol. It's not complicated we literally cannot sign him atm until we free up some much needed capspace.

Talib is not playing this year so it doesn’t matter to him he still gets his money and he did the the Rams a huge one here as he had to have agreed to this. He can always come back next year, and in the meantime the Rams have money to play with. No one gets hurt while some benefits.

Looks like a trade for accounting numbers. That's a lot of faith they're putting in for Hill / Long alongside Ramsey.

At least the offseason will provide some breathing room for re-signing / new FAs.

Well that’s a bummer for Talib. Basically he was done for season so guess it doesn’t matter in long run that he sits on Dolphins IR or ours. Be funny if he never played for them and then we signed him to a one year deal in offseason.

Curious to see what comes of this. Pushing salary cap to next year for Ramsey or making another splash today.

I'm not a cap expert - but could the contract not be structured to where the real cap hits are in future seasons? Not everything contract needs to have a huge signing bonus that is immediately payable. You can guarantee the money in a lot of different ways. Heck - they could extend his current contract - right?
