variations in offensive formations are good if you are good at them...

variation just in the name of making the defense have to defend something different seems like a poor idea.

The rams EPA in 11 formation vs 12 was about the same however - both middle of the road.

I don't care what formation we use -we need to be better.

17th in yards and 20th in scoring isn't good enough.
How much of that was having the WR our offense goes through barely able to cut anymore and a 3rd receiver who was a gloried sacrificial X.

Keep in mind that some of those stats were slewed by injuries to Kupp, Puka, Higbee and the offensive line, for a month or two. In Higbee’s case it was nearly all season.

The lack of a decent tight end hampered the offense. Kupp not moving well did also.

I fully expect those numbers to move into top ten/top five territory, no matter which personnel grouping they use.

Jourdan said they envision him ultimately as an F receiver. But how he's used this year will be interesting.
Jourdan, Jourdan, Jourdan. We've been kicking this same can down the road well before Jourdan just said what is by now quite obvious for a first year TE who is a good weapon in the pass game, but who on his college film doesn't look like he'll be able to handle NFL DEs year one.

I certainly appreciate Jourdan. But maybe let's take it easy on utilizing her as gospel. She is a conduit of the coaches to the media, and a damn good one, who in that comment you mentioned backed up what has been discussed round here for a while.

Now in all seriousness McVay mentioning Fergs as spelling Higs, which is to say more of the conventional inline usage, is surprising to me. He is probably just trying to give the kid confidence and all that, talking him up as per usual. Because I think they know in-house (staff and Fergs) that he can help us in the pass game usage alone. That conventional usage however is a whole other deal and I'll have to see him occupying starters on the edge before I believe it, at least for his rook season.

I love Jourdan. However I love showing respect for the fans who rabidly post here and on other sites on all these issues as well.
