Had a nerve acting up in my hip for almost a month after overdoing some power cleans, which kept me from moving about and I have to say I have never been so scared. I feared it wouldn't go away. Absolutely terrifying.

Hang in there man. You'll get past it. :clinkingbeer:

A week in....10 more days until post op. Then I can get out of this bulky splint thing and finally into a boot and I can scratch this fucking itch I've been dealing with that I just can't reach.

Get better, Juggs. I've prayed for you that your leg and nerve endings will be completely healed! I don't want to see that your new user name has been changed to hop-a-long!

One week to go until I get this fuckin thing off my leg and move to a walking boot with some weight.

Bring stuck inside this house is making me stir crazy.

I tried to walk a bit with crutches today...my entire foot started tingling like it was asleep and now it hurts. Haha whoops. Ibuprofen for the win baby!

Few months of physical therapy and I should be ready to run a race...I mean...a short one cause I'm old and fat

I know it's going to suck for a bit, Juggs, and that's perfectly understandable. You have any sedentary hobbies? Video games? Drawing? Writing? Listening to music, even? Stuff that doesn't involve your foot, I mean.

That stuff helps keep your mind off of your foot, and in turn, doesn't hurt when you try to do them. It'll be a long week, but it'll turn out okay if you just keep the foot safe inside of the cast. Casts suck, not gonna lie, but keeping your mind distracted from them is by far the best remedy in the meantime.

Watching way too much Instagram. I deactivated my other socials....too toxic at the moment for my peace of mind.

Spending a lot more time here, chatting. Just getting by. Thanks for responding @Memento
 
So, not to brag, but I started taking unassisted steps yesterday. It feels so nice to be mobile. It doesn't hurt nearly as bad as I thought it was gonna. I obviously get the pain from the incision still, but that very tolerable. Yesterday, I went outside to see my flock for the first time in two weeks. My turkey hen, Pebbles came and sat by me to get her pets. It was very nice and very welcomed. Thank y'all for the healing thoughts! Monday, I switch to a walking boot, out of this "bulky splint" they call it.

Heal brother. Now this crick in my neck the last couple of days doesn’t seem so bad after all. Rest and relax so you can enjoy this big victory over the Eagles!

After a nerve block, it is indeed awful that your leg is numb. I experienced the same feeling after my ankle surgery, and they told me it would help with pain, but the lack of control and not being able to move my toes made me a little batty. It was numb for 18-24 hours, depending on your own body, and then the tingling began. Once the tingling starts, you can tell it is wearing off. If you offer someone the option again, it is fine to simply state you would prefer not to have the block, and just experience pain even. Everyone has his/her own response to pain, and I would also say one usually wants autonomy over his/her body and the paralysis is frustrating.
