OK. On topic. I’d rather eat a bag of dicks than sign Cousins.
Off topic. Of course I want MS healthy, but everyone on this thread watched the shit show in the 90’s and 2000’s.

This is our Rams. IDGAF who our QB ends up being. I’m there period. As are all of you.

Bennett has had one good preseason game against back ups for the most part.
Cousins has 43,000 passing yards and a career passing rating of 97.4.
Physically Bennett may be better, but, thats it and in reality, that isn't much unless the mental side comes with it.
You must see more in him than I do and that's okay.

Ehh, I think its an either or thing depending on the day and the opponent.
I don't want Cousins.
If Stafford is out we will rally around Jimmy G and finish 8-9.

That's if Stafford is out ALL YEAR, correct?

If Stafford is out 4 weeks JG is capable of keeping this teams Super Bowl aspirations intact, no?

Otherwise replace Stafford’s name in your post with Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow and THOSE teams will finish 8-9. Kind of a generic NFL observation, starting QB out for year = team fucked.

BTW, If it comes down to Cousins or Bennett playing, we are no longer playing for a ring. So at that point get a higher draft pick for more ammo to go get our future QB.
Without a healthy Stafford, the Rams aren’t playing for a ring, period. The question is WHEN will he be healthy?

To be fair, the Bengals are still fully capable of going 8-9 WITH Joe Burrow

It's a little hard not to get a bit concerned 3 weeks from kick off. Been telling my buddies "Naw... he'll be fine and good to go come week 1" Now, I'm not too sure. I think Jimmy G will be OK as a place holder, providing Stafford heals up enough to play at his normal level. As far as looking for someone to take JG's spot, like Cousins, is a no go. Jimmy G is 2nd year in the playbook and better prepared than anyone else coming in cold.

Hopefully this is all moot, and Staff will be fine in the next week to get some reps in.

From what The Saints are saying. They’re saying the same thing.
The 2 minute drive was encouraging, but The Rams have kept things tight.I haven’t seen enough to know.
-What I’ll say about the scrimmage is exactly what The Rams need as a group. The players learned & Mcvay got excellent tape.

BTW-Mcvay AIN’T Dummy like there exQB back in the day.

-PLUS - G-Rating-

Matthew Stafford is I believe going to throw today ? If all goes well like last week. He’ll start up again & work his way into training camp.

IMO - & what’s been told is There(Stafford-Reggie-Dr.’s) are being extra safe on this.

I get all the concerns. (Okdschool) Help Me Out. Doesn’t anyone listen to SEAN MCVAY ??

He said ALL a long I don’t want to get a head of it.He gave his time frame. Extra reports & INFO came out. The Original deadline was looking good, even EVERYTHING from the start of the ISSUE!

Now this week was the date Mcvay said was when it basically becomes a concern. SO - let’s EASE UP a little when he starts getting ready for the season this week. PLEASE!

BTW - I’m already feeling concerned what happens if
he is not ready.I’d say I have
other & bigger concerns.

The BIG concern will be if THE RAMS lose early. Still I don’t get some FANS thinking it’s FANTASY FOOTBALL!!

BTW - just adding for all of those who want to look ahead,or DWELLING on Mattew Stafford & The Rams TEAM!

Look at this SQUAD! They BUILT for a 3 YEAR(2) FUTURE as a TEAM.

If the SKY was falling- YES - Fearsome Cousin would & could be a perfect fit.

Say that he is coming in for Jimmy G & after tonight Stetson is way premature.I’d think if Bennett gets INJURED & Mattew Stafford’s back is way more SERIOUS? Then I could see bringing him in & competing with JIMMY G.
We can go visa-versa as well .Still a FAR CRY FROM REALITY! What’s going on around The NFL(Country),anything is possible. That’s being proven in ALL History Books that don’t get printed anymore & all going to be fiction. SO- what do I know about NEVERS & AIN’T going 2.

Cincinnati without Burrow Vs. Rams without Stafford? Burrow may be the sole reason the bengals FINISH 8-9. With the great Jake Browning, vs. a Jimmy G led Rams team? For 17 games I think he had it right. The Rams are still a very good roster and finish around 8-9. The Bengals with Jake Browning at the helm become the Bungles and go 5-12.

Let’s hope it’s all a moot point though.

Burrow is great and all that but in 2023 with Jake Browning the Bengals went 4-3 where he sported a 98.4 passer rating
With Burrow, they went 5-5

So Rams should make a trade for Jake Browning?

Seriously Praying to the football Gods that Matthew Stafford has a great workout, is back and better then ever leads the Rams to a Super Bowl Victory and rides off into the Sunset that Jared Goff has not a clue about.
I Hope Please GIF

I sure hope Stafford is OK, but either way he can be kinda streaky.

If not I wouldn't say all is lost as the team I watched towards the end of last year was being led by the defense. A defense that, barring injuries, should be even better this year with the addition of Ford and the new LBs.

If Stafford can't go Garoppolo is going to be the guy and if Shanahan can contend with him at QB then McVay should be able to do the same, IMO. Maybe. Just Maybe, he'll even spread the ball around more.

That said, I would love to see that Bennett has improved enough to play. He might not have their experience, but his ability to run could help the offense, IMO.

Not quite ready to anoint Bennett, but if he can play well against the Chargers especially in the first quarter with most of the Chargers first string defense playing, that will show even more growth. As to his running, at Georgia that is where he did showcase the ability to run at the appropriate times with not only extending plays, but being able to keep drives alive.
