I guess the sky is falling. Always looking for the negatives to complain. See you week 1 Stafford.

I mean training camp has been going on for almost a month now. McVay said Stafford would be day-to-day first and then week-to-week and at this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if he pulled an Andrew Luck on us and retired before the season.
i honestly wouldnt be surprised if this happens, so how does Adams react to this? He obviously saw Stafford as a factor for coming to the Rams. I have a sinking feeling.

When asked if Stafford would be on the field when the Rams open their season against the Houston Texans on Sept. 7, McVay was optimistic, but not definitive.

“I don’t know that,” McVay said. “I think he still probably would be able to play, it’s just based on how he feels. But because of how he felt overall, it’s like what’s the risk-reward with us being 27 days out?

I dont smoke that stuff but i am very concerned.. are you not at all? Send some optimism my way.

Not really, concerned, it's a problem that's never going away for Stafford. I have have 3 bulging disc in my neck and it's you either fuse the disc or you live with it. Yes there are treatments for the issue but they only alleviate it temporarily. It's something he's going to deal with for the remainder of his career/life. Even if he does surgery, it doesn't fix the problem which is why a lot of people elect not to have back fusion surgeries.

My biggest issue is, the Rams have probably known about this issue for sometime, i doubt very much that "golf" actually caused the issue as it usually takes some force to herniate or bulge a disc. Hence I got my 3 bulging disc from being put in a Can Opener in MMA. It took a lot of force and my upper back / neck area was frozen for about a month. Once it cleared up I was ready to go and it's still something I constantly have to keep loose.

The Rams have probably known about this issue when it happened, and he probably reaggravated it playing golf, tennis, etc. It usually takes 3-4 weeks to clear up with rest and rehab. He'll probably be ready to come back right around week 1, basing the timetable on when we heard about the issue.

If he stays sidelined Stafford is gonna be rusty not getting any time w/ his WR's. It might be better to hold him out week 1 and have him practicing week 2.

Obviously this is all just my opinion, and injuries vary but in my experience and experiences with my teammates in Jujitsu, it's not super serious and just something he's gonna have to work through.

I didn't want to start a new thread with this thought. If someone wants to start a poll then feel free. What is Stafford retires after this season? Would we want to sign Garoppolo to an extension and go into next year with him as our starting QB? We could do worse.

I’ve been trying to keep quiet and have patience with this whole situation. But I know the Rams are sneaky and sometimes for lack of a better phrase, full of shit. I knew this was a bigger deal than they were letting on. Taking him off the field altogether and sending up for an epidural? The fuck? I fuckin knew this shit wasn’t normal.

He threw 60+ balls Saturday and was supposed to be out there again today. But no, he'$ in street clothes. Not good.
I don't blame the Rams for being totally full of shit. All teams do it. McVay is a far better bullshitter than anyone else and he owns the press, who lap up everything he serves them.

Always have to read between the lines with McVay.

Still 4 weeks until opening day. Hate that he’s dealing with it now but optimistic that rest will help heal the issue. Smart to continue to rest him. I think they will have to make a decision in a couple of weeks as to how they approach it. Could start the season on IR which would mean he would miss the first 4 games. They were extremely cautious with his shoulder last year in preseason and he was fine to begin the season. Stafford’s tough as nails. If anyone will play through this injury it’s Stafford.

Not at all worried about Stafford and certainly would not rush him either way. Even with Jimmy G, the Rams should be no worse than 5-2 going into their bye week, IMO. New Orleans coming out of the bye is another team I'd expect to beat even with Jimmy. The dude can play. He is one of the best backup QBs in the league IMO. We are fortunate that way. He's been to a Super Bowl. Had many very high win seasons. We need Stafford for when all the chips are down in the playoffs. Not in September, October, November. Rest up.
