So, over the last few weeks McVay has gone from, paraphrasing......Stafford back is....no big deal.....to they are taking precautions...to....he is getting treatment....to....if the season were on now he'd by playing.....now to McVay HOPES his back responds to treatment this week.....this is trending toward IR land.
If this happens I could see a trade for Cousins.
I don't want that trade and wouldn't give up much, but, if Jimmy G was as bad as people said versus a Saints D that got pressure.....

UGH - The Rams went SO vanilla.

On the last 2 minute drive The Rams & the Saints couldn’t stop them.Big Rob got rolled up like a pretzel.Kyren Williams got a run in & slid down to the ground & got up with MUSCLE FLEXED.

Puka made a big catch, but Adams was laid out to dry & he was like in his head. LOL - not this F & F & MF again. Not really, but he didn’t make a catch because he didn’t want the contact.Which was smart.

I think anyone who is thinking Cousins to The Rams needs to take a drug test. Then again let the conspiracies betagain- GREAT

Cousins only makes sense in that he has a relationship with McVay and is a guy who has had a lot of success.
Offseason is the time for such talk......but, I certainly don't want Cousins.

Brett Butler (take your pick as to which one) would be better than Brett Rypien......but, the guy is still drawing an NFL check. Goes to show how tough QB depth is to obtain.
Hard to understand, granted, great guy, cerebral and can learn an offense quick, but IMHO, offers nothing and I would rather give someone else a chance that has more upside. This is one of my biggest issues with the NFL is coaches want guys that won't hurt them, but they ignore guys that could actually help them.

No reason in the whole wide world to trade for Cousins. Jimmy G just as good. Cousins was AWFUL last year.
I agree but my point is that the Rams trading for Cousins is most likely NOT even Possible due to the cap.

SO I tore a MCL & ACL. No surgery,but rest. How’s PT & recovery look like ?

BTW - I get what your saying, but I can drag a lot of positives from where The Rams & Mattew Stafford are at.

So, after surgery there was about a month of couch time before I was cleared for PT.

PT was pretty tough in the beginning. The first portion is just working on very simple things you take for granted. Each day would start with laying on the table and pointing my toes to my nose, then pointing them as far down as I could, then side to side. Then I’d write the alphabet with my feet. Basically, just trying to stretch that tendon out and get some range of motion back. After a few mins of that, they would flatten a hand towel on the ground and with my legs at a 90° angle it was just “pick it up with your toes”. Which I could not do for a bit. That was the initial few weeks. That alone had me sore for two days, then I’d have to do it again.

After that I would still start my session with the stuff above (that became my warm up) and they moved me on to doing calf raises with only 25% effort on my injured side, and some basic heel toe walking. They continued to add more balance type stuff as I progressed. They slowly added in strength building things.

Eventually getting to single leg calf raises. Once I got those, it was full go. I was doing explosive jumping type stuff, ladder drills, leg presses, and eventually full on sprint work. When I got cleared I was back to running a mile without any real soreness. The two to three mile range still gave me a bit of soreness/tightness.

I’m a firefighter, so they really worked on getting me “sport ready,” but there were some aspects that they just couldn’t mimic in PT. My physical therapist had me scheduled to come in the day after each shift for the first month, and she would make me hope on an exercise bike for 5 mins and then would make me lay on the table and would take me through recovery things like calf massages (my favorite) muscle scraping (my least favorite), cupping of the calf (my other least favorite) and cold therapy. After about a month I was done with that.

I was good enough to do everything I was doing, but there is still some obvious strength differences. If I do any unilateral type lifting (split squats, single leg deadlifts etc) I start with my left side, because it sets the pace.

I’m back to playing basketball, snowboarding, sprints, jumping…but Ive noticed it’s the unexpected/unintentional movements that get me. I grew up skateboarding, and still ride from time to time. Some of the time when my weight unexpectedly shifts too far forward (on my injured leg) I’m not prepared and it just brings me down.

I mean, even if Cousins was a tad better than Garappolo…Jimmy has been here with the playbook for a year and is here in camp getting a ton of reps with starters.

It would be very one step forward two steps back to move off of that at this point.

Not to mention cousins has little to no experience in high pressure situations and he's not performed well when he has been in them.

Can't believe some of you guys are comparing Jimmy G to Cousins. It's almost like some of you don't have eyes.

Falcons eat half of it and Jimmy G's salary, they still save money and dump him and get a back up QB.
I don't think it will happen, but, there could be a way.
Maybe but Atlanta would likely demand a higher draft choice to eat some of the salary.
That's how Denver got a 2nd and 3rd from the Rams for Von Miller.

I just don’t get how Cousins name seems to come up here every year. Not only no - but HELL NO!

Not only does Cousins have a guaranteed 27.5 mill salary, he also has a full no-trade clause meaning he'd likely look for (and get) guaranteed money in 26/27 as well
I dont see how he's an upgrade to Garoppolo today

it's hard to know the severity of the back issue when I have not seen any detailed diagnosis.

from what I've read it takes around a month on avg to be at a pain management point - but 2 months before "normal activities."

That is what I read for herniated disc - but not sure exactly what his diagnosis is.
