FWIW, Charles Robinson has floated the Darnold to Rams pipeline beginning this year but also said he talked to a front office guy (did not specify where) who said McVay's super hard on QBs and do people really think Darnold can take it.

Would need more than that for Stafford and Kupp.

I remember reading the same before we traded Jones for scraps. Two firsts for two older offensive players with huge contracts would be a steal.

Most of the male relatives on my Dad's side didn't live past 65 years old. I'm 60 now, so I may never see the Rams be good again if they trade Staff and Kupp.
Such is life...
Same here. After this past year’s health problems , I’ve probably seen my last SB win. I was hoping to at least be competitive this year I don’t see it happening , even if we have Kupp and Stafford. Not sure what the hell happened , aside from the injuries

It entirely depends on the quarterback we get. Stafford isn't going to be himself forever, and I trust this regime with the quarterback. They've earned the benefit of the doubt on that.
That goes without saying.
What I’m saying is we can horde picks and build a mega roster and still not win shit with bad or even average QB play.

I’d rather not be the Bears. Drafting a “hit” QB is hard. It’s also not fun missing on top picks. I’d rather let Stafford and the team play this out.

Piling up draft picks and losing a lot of games should be avoided unless there’s no choice. If Stafford retires that equals a no choice scenario so in that situation yeah, tank away and we enter QB purgatory.

The last time the Rams were in QB no man’s land was 9 yrs ago and to be honest we were there far too long. Bradford was a miss, Bulger was shell shocked and a whole lot of bad QB’s in between Warner and Goff.

Just be careful what you wish for folks.

Theoretically, I think the argument could be that Jimmy G could be a decent bridge QB. But he has major injury issues too and is unreliable. Him and Noteboom are in the same club. And who thinks Stetson is ever going to be more than a backup?

Personally, I think it is a horrible idea to blow out Stafford and Kupp. I say that the team should try to get healthy and make a run at it. They have been close against good teams this year. I am with Mojo Ram on this one.

If they both get traded I will rationalize it…

But… not sure the Stafford rumor makes sense? I am having a hard time thinking we go into the offseason without an option, creating a must find situation. That’s a lot of risk.

And the cap seems a problem.

Who knows what is going on behind the scenes. Why did we get rid of Jones? They really shopping Kupp? Maybe Kroenke has tightened the purse strings. All I know is if they trade Kupp I know they have given up on the season and I will be really pissed.

The only way I move Kupp is if he desires a trade to a contender. Otherwise I'd like to see him retire a Ram. I'd like to believe the team feels the same.

Even though I fought till I'm blue in the face with stupid @Merlin about JJ McCarthy IDK or think he's a McVay type of QB tbh.

Go easy on Merlin - he was a surface sailor, so he can't help it. :laugh4::laugh4:

Stafford isn’t going to uproot his family from LA to go learn a new offense mid-season as the QB of a former division rival.

He’s loyal. He’ll finish his career as a Ram.

If Rams move Stafford, McVay is gone. He wants ready to win QBs. Not tank for a few years and hit the lotto one day for the Purdy.

Yeah there is no way the Rams would move Matt anywhere he doesn't want to go. I could see Minnesota, since he knows the offense cold and has protection and weapons there. But no way they send him to a non-contender even assuming the rumors are real.

I don't see it happening, otherwise the Rams window is officially closed as well, IMO.

What's all this jibberish? We all wake up most Sundays let alone to this Thursday night. Vikes might own us they might get us. So far the NFC North shows we lose by last possession. It favors us Thursday night. Forget the past and whatever George Carlin said. It's over now.

So let me get this straight. People think Snead will trade Stafford and/or Kupp without input from McVay? Acting like he'll be pissed off and retire if they trade him because he wouldn't have input on it? Just wow, he had input on trading for him but they're going to trade his starting QB without him having any input on it? I just can't even comprehend that this is a thought going on here.

Yeah I don't think people understand that McVay is the one who drives those moves. So if this is happening it is McVay.

It could be, but McVay doesn't trade or make moves unless it's useful to the team. Sending Stafford elsewhere does nothing but close our window to win unless he has a plan to bring Mahomes here.
