Nate is no Jourdan but he's rounding into form. Nice insights sprinkled in this article.

Lots of talk last night on socials about Stafford being in convo for MVP. He absolutely should be and if he keeps up this play there's no reason he's not top 2 options right now.

I canceled my subscription. NYT ruined it for me. Thwy could screw up a wet dream...

Stafford"s stats are ridiculous this year so he absolutely has to be #1 in the running for MVP at this point in the season. However... there is still a lot of football to be played. Go Rams and go Mathew Stafford!

So.. when do we start talking about how long he really has left?
I mean.. MVP level play?
Keep him protected and get.. 2 more years?
I think next season will be his last season. If he gets injured badly this season, I would dare to say he's toast.

As it stands now, I think Stafford decides how long he plays. My guess - as of right now - is this is his last year and probably 90% chance it's his last season if we win it all. But there's a chance for one more year if we fall short. Just don't think it's high.

Gotta love these talking heads.

While I agree that Stafford is the MVP at this point. These guys live on a week to week basis, new Rankings every week, new MVPs every week, etc. It's fucking annoying.

I think he is enjoying the game more than he ever has. He has Everything he ever wanted. Great coaching, great teammates, great talent and important games every year. And now he has another chance to make a serious run. He will play for as long as he thinks this team can contend and he stays healthy.
He waited his whole career to experiance this. He aint walking away right when he can solidify his legacy.

Plus.....he's got two #1 receivers in Puka and Davante. How many teams have 2 shut down corners? Throw in the rook who is developijg into a big threat, the other TEs who seem to be open a lot and a couple of damn good running backs, the Rams are going to be very tough to stop. On the other side of the ball, they are getting better every week so teams are going to have to hold our offense under 20 PPG to beat us. Good luck with that. Stafford may play through 2028!!!!

I think this is a similar situation to Whitworth where everyone was trying to guess when he'd hang it up.

A good clue is to follow the contract. Would Stafford have signed 2 years if he thought it was probable that this was his last season? Keep in mind, the Rams were the ones who wanted to sign him one year at a time, so it was Stafford that pushed for the longer extension.

I think he very likely plays another year...unless they win the SB.

I think he definitely plays another year after they win a SB. He wants to run it back like Elway and then run right off to Canton.

He was already signed thru 2026, they didnt change the length of the contract. It was a restructure where void years were added to stretch out the increase they gave him. His "new" contract gave him a nice bump and fully guaranteed money for this season.
Next season's deal is a bit of contract wizardry where it's not guaranteed until the new league year starts. So the Rams are protected if he decides to hang em up, and Staff gets his '26 fully guaranteed if he decides to play another year.
Either way, he's been on the books for '26 ever since he signed his extension after the SB.

I’m all for him being discussed as a possible MVP, but the saints are not a proper barometer. This Sunday is a must win vs the 9ers.
If he’s ever gonna have a big game, this would be a good spot.

THEN, there’s all kinds of great discussions to have.

Agreed. Lets see redzone efficiency against better comp going forward. This goes for the Defense as well. We have big games coming up. This team needs to carry all this recent success forward.
