Doesn’t that also apply to Geno Smith, and every starting QB in the NFL?If (Stafford is) on then the Rams have a chance to win, but if the accuracy is off then it's going to be a long day.

Boy you nailed that one. He must have touched the back of his head twice for about a second. Clearly a tell that he is uncomfortable and hiding something. He also said heck a couple times which everyone knows means he is done as a coach.Odd that Wentz got a "bunch of reps". Usually the starter gets them all. McVay does that thing with rubbing the back of his head when he's not comfortable with the question.
I’d rather be known for paying well but not being stupid about it. And, expecting my employees to hold up their end of the contract.Keep in mind its also good business to be perceived as a good place for free agents to go to because the organizations treats people well.
The funniest thing to me, is that ‘back of the head … not comfortable’ post actually got a thumbs-up.Boy you nailed that one. He must have touched the back of his head twice for about a second. Whatever the reason for this is - the Rams are sure getting good at it.....What really pisses me off the most id getting rid of players who are under contract and taking a big dead money hit. There should be a way to let them walk if they want (looking at you Ramsey) and not be saddled with the dead money.
Working a deal to “do right by the player” while fucking the team over financially is just dumb.
Ramsey wanted to stay not walk. That was a front office decision. What really pisses me off the most id getting rid of players who are under contract and taking a big dead money hit. There should be a way to let them walk if they want (looking at you Ramsey) and not be saddled with the dead money.

He forced his way out wanting more money.Ramsey wanted to stay not walk. That was a front office decision.
Agreed. Rams made a shrewd decision with him.Ramsey wanted to stay not walk. That was a front office decision.
My gig issue so far this year is McVay's play calling. It feels frenetic, tone deaf, weird, and schizophrenic. We usually have one good half, and one crappy half. Does this team have an identity? If they do, I would like to know what it is, other than running 11 personnel all day long and letting opposing DC's tee off on our OLine. I think we all see the potential with some of our draft picks, but some of us are befuddled by play calls that don't make sense. If it's because Mcvay is a genius and I'm not, then he shouldn't be getting shut out for entire halves.Wow! I agree with some of what you say (especially about back-up QB) but you're kind-of-all-over-the-place. The Niners?!? They have nothing to do with this question.
Personally, this is pretty much what I expected.
The Rams have $76M in Dead-$. 2nd-highest in the NFL. The League-average is $33M. They have more than $60M in Dead-$ just for Ramsey, Floyd and Robinson. That’s more than 29-of-the-32 teams in the NFL.
The only team in the NFL that did not sign a free agent from another team during Free Agency was the Rams!
Everything they did from last March until now has been about getting the Salary Cap in order for 2024 and beyond. Management even said this is what they were going to do. They chose to use the word “Re-set” instead of re-tool, re-work or God-forbid, re-build.
I understand the current frustration of losing. I understand the timing of it because losing sucks.
I also understand the disappointment of where the Team appears to be at this moment.
What I do Not understand is feeling the disappointment right now. The time to be disappointed was in the off-season, when the Rams were making all the moves and decisions that put them where they are right now.
When Jalen Ramsey was traded for a third round draft choice and a mere $5.6M of cap relief, with a cost of $19.6M in Dead-$ … THAT was the time to feel disappointment because that’s when the 2023 Season was destined to be a very frustrating year.
In my opinion, some posters failed or refused to see what, to some of us, was crystal-clear.
The Rams are just not talented enough. Those who thought otherwise, were just wrong.

Because most people insist on being simple-minded.Having an "identity" is a common football cliche that I do not understand. I"m not speaking about the Rams but in general, why does the public need to know if an offense is run heavy, pass heavy, an air-raid or west coast offense, etc? What's wrong with being balanced and changing the game plan week-to-week depending on the opponent's weakness. Run 40 times and pass 40 times the next, idc as long as we win.
oh man do i agree with this...Having an "identity" is a common football cliche that I do not understand. I’d rather be ghost. If I am running a squad you would just know the product we put out come gameday. In todays age where info travels at a click of a button why isn’t there faux practices where the public sees that we are practicing but not what we are actually practicing…It baffles my mind, is there a rules clause that you must show what you are actually trying to accomplish in practice?Having an "identity" is a common football cliche that I do not understand. Ramsey is also on the decline and probably only has a couple years of high level play in him. I highly doubt he wanted to spend those years on a team that is in the middle of a rebuild. Snead and McVay greatly helped Ramsey out by getting him on a playoff contender.Agreed. Rams made a shrewd decision with him.
You answered your own question.McVay's play calling feels frenetic, tone deaf, weird, and schizophrenic. We usually have one good half, and one crappy half. Does this team have an identity?
Im confident that Ramsey prefers to be playing on the Dolphins vs the Patriots. But if the Patriots had guaranteed him $5m more than the Dolphins over the next 3 years he’d be wearing red, blue and silver this weekend.Ramsey is also on the decline and probably only has a couple years of high level play in him. Okay personnel wise makes sense.Having an "identity" goes to personnel decisions and focus.
There's nothing wrong with being balanced. That's typically the goal in most cases.
But to excel at something increases your chances of winning, IMO. And personnel and focus should match for that to happen.
Bringing in bigger OLinemen to run a power/gap scheme only to neglect the running game and be pass happy in empty back sets so often doesn't make much sense. And you especially don't run a fly sweep on 4th and short with perhaps your slowest WR.![]()
