My take is refs are influenced by crowds, cameras and coaches. I base this on how many times Ive seen a very late flag for a personal foul, targeting or pass interference because the crowd roars, the cameras zoom in and the coaches start screaming. Then the ref says “aw shit I better throw a flag because I wasnt paying close enough attention and I’ll get roasted for missing that one. Especially since the league is screaming at us to protect the offensive players”. None of that occurs in the trenches where Defensive players like Donald are getting mauled every play.

Yawn even the players know these games are rigged with the officials attempting to influence the outcomes. It's where ever the big money is. Just go back and look at that overturn of Tutu's TD by NY. You can't even see a single blade of green on his shoe but he somehow clearly stepped out. That 4 point differential was the margin of loss. Look at how that single loss has impacted the Ram season. They wouldn't be chasing a wildcard berth they would be the #6 seed.

The NFL embraced gambling and ever since the officiating is rigged and everyone knows it even those that don't want to admit it. The hypocrites suspend players for gambling even when it's not on the NFL. Yet they promote gambling as their major sponsors. Also, there is no prohibition on gaming on ownership.

As someone who was working in a casino gaming commission and got fired for refusing to falsify an invalidation of a multimillion-dollar win, I know how dirty the business is. All California casinos are run by Vegas who contrary to the FBI are still run by mafia families. They flew fixers out from Vegas to ensure the win was invalidated. It's why I moved to Mexico for a few years and now live in AZ after all the threats. All major jackpots on slots can be invalidated by a "machine malfunction". All progressive jackpots are controlled by a networked server based in Las Vegas which dictates when a jackpot will be paid out. Slot machine wins are not random they are scheduled by the servers in each of the casinos all of which run Vegas generated software. I know because my job was to set each machine every morning at 3am.

It's naive IMO to think the mega gaming interest isn't part of the blatant crap officiating now going on in the NFL. It's not coincidental that the officiating deteriorated at the same time gambling sponsorship started in the NFL. It's how I knew years before the stadium was built in Las Vegas that the NFL would move there. It was no secret for those who worked in gambling admin. Yet my friends scoffed at me when I told them saying the NFL would never allow it. They refused to allow the City of San Diego to accept one of the casinos to be a co-sponsor of the stadium citing their anti-gaming policy. What a joke, they knew Spanos wanted out of San Diego, and they wanted him to move to Vegas so the Chargers were offered the stadium first. But Spanos didn't want to have to spend his own money for a stadium.

So yeah it's also why I'm used to having people scoff at things I say.

didn't uncalled holding, choking, etc. cause Robert Quinn's back injuries ?? sad thing is that it's leaguewide and unacceptable for a league so concerned about player safety. :eyeroll:

It’s been said so many times but the evidence was absolutely in-your-face obvious in that Browns game.

AD is being held and sometimes choked, often blatantly, on almost every play. Ray Charles could see these fouls yet rarely is a flag thrown.

Meanwhile, refs are throwing flags on ticky tack and sometimes phantom fouls right and left.

Where is the balance? The fairness?

I sometimes wonder how AD keeps bringing it in the face of such an obvious double standard.

This has GOTTA be coming down from the league office because they don’t want to slow down the game.

It was making me crazy while the game was still close, which it was for about 56 minutes. Sigh…

In the first game against the whiners, they employed the bear hug blocking technique against AD. They don't hold long but even half a second allows the QB to get the ball out of his hands. Then it kills me when the Rams wind up with more holding calls than our opposition. And it happens frequently.

The league ought to send a memo to the other 31 teams.

"Donald is held so much we can't throw the flag every time and bring the game in under 4 hours. What we've instructed the officials to do is only throw the flag on third down. We expect the holding to subside".

But of course they can't do that. They've changed the rules to prevent QB injuries and holding Donald helps in that endeavor.

That's the same as Goodell saying the Patriots didn't cheat, but I destroyed the tapes for the heck of it.

Yes. I thought it was his neck though. Getting hooked around the neck is clear and blatant holding, but it was allowed to go on and nearly ended Quinn’s career.

What really bothers me about allowing blatant holds on AD, is it could have prevented him from getting a fourth DMVP award. That would clearly make him the GOAT of defense.

I believe AD is the greatest defensive player to ever wear horns. He might be in the conversation for the best ever in NFL history if the NFL called holding penalties (as they should). It's due to his very greatness that referees are ignoring these egregious penalties for whatever reason. The NFL press and public overvalues the Sack and the uncalled holding penalties prevent AD from being recognized as the greatest ever. I wish there was a way to measure how many uncalled holding penalties against him. He should have at least one more DPOY and his sack stats would be near the very top of the list. I don't think the sack is the single greatest measure of pass rusher greatness, but the rest of the World does.

We need a large bronze statue in front of SoFi of him pointing to his ring finger with an inscription, "The Greatest Ever."
