And yet we have a good WR and a good center now. Add this then to the previous comment from me. We fans too often are disliking a player because we drafted or signed "the wrong guy". We all have our draft or free agency crushes and if McSnead don't do what we do we hold it against the guy taken.

These things play out with time. And judging the Tutu pick after he's had two good games in three years is premature.

Waiting to see the Rams D come up with a turnover for the first time this season.

Rams should kick the tires on Dalton Reisner if Boom is going to miss time. Hell, even if he’s not they should. He would take our line to the next level IMO. I can’t figure out why he’s still out there. It can’t be for pushing Russell Wilson….who DOESNT want to do that?

Ok, enough of this participation trophy talk. Yeah, the Rams are turning heads because their young roster is ahead of schedule and they obviously drafted a couple gems in Nacua and Avila, but this game was there for the taking.

I have been impressed with their grit, but they made the key mistakes that cost the game. You can’t play a top team and make those kind of mistakes. Back to back penalties in the end zone before the half, the first ricochet interception, missed tackles, the Rams will no doubt look at the film and see they missed a gigantic opportunity.

A win would have put the 9ers into a different mindset and the rest of the league as well.

Don’t settle for showing promise, kick the bengals ass next week and let everybody know we’re coming for you. The 9er game was a hiccup, not just a great effort to be proud of.

Lousy teams take solace in not being embarrassed and putting up a good fight. The 2023 Rams are NOT a lousy football team.

Would you agree that he is playing better then last year?

No. Worse. He could have cost us the game.

But even after a single season, we may have seen enough from Kendrick already. In 483 snaps played in 2022, Kendrick was targeted by opposing quarterbacks 56 times. He allowed 39 completions for 571 yards (14.6 average), two touchdowns, and four pass deflections as a rookie. This resulted in a 114.5 passer rating when Kendrick was in coverage, according to PFF tracking data.

The Rams forced San Francisco into a third and long in LA territory just before the halftime break. Kendrick had tight coverage on Purdy’s intended receiver, but instead of playing the ball he got overly physical with the receiver and drew a pass interference penalty in the end zone—giving the 49ers’ the ball on the one-yard line. Kendrick committed another penalty with a facemask call, and then Purdy scored a touchdown on a QB sneak.

PFF CB Derion Kendrick: 37.2

There were multiple occasions in this game where Kendrick was beat deep but Purdy overthrew his receiver. The second-year corner has been the biggest weak spot on the Rams defense through two games.

Kendrick had a poor grade in this one despite allowing just two catches for 13 yards on five targets in coverage. The problem is he committed two penalties, including a pass interference in the end zone, and he missed one tackle.

BTW...
Cobie Durant was really hyped up this offseason.
Haven't seen anything impressive for him yet.. Beat physically on one long pass and saw him with a very casual attitude on a hard in-route by Aiyuk or Deebo.. and he failed to make sure the player was down.

Not impressed at this point.
I thought Durants tackling was standout poor vs 49ers

What I find funny is our corners all have low pff rankings but statistically vs opposing passers we are middle of the pack. We are also fifth in passing yards against. And fourth in opponent third down conversion rate.

And this is after playing two quality offenses.

My thoughts on the OPs pov-

Hoecht is the worst on the defense not Kendricks. Look DK is not a ton better but our pass rush is non existent.

Yes I agree the RBs need a tweaking.

Yes Tomlinson should play let's see what he can do.

VJ just needs a bunch of targets to get in rhythm.

RG we need Boom back hopefully it is minor.

Overall after 2 games I am very pleased. Now if we can go into Cincy and win then go to Indy and win what a great 2 weeks it will be.

Lastly I hope Les fixes (upgrades) the defense.

I watched the game and focused on Noteboom and Anchrum mostly. Mainly because RG is the biggest unknown on offense.

Noteboom played much better against the Niners, than he did against the Seahawks. The biggest difference was his run blocking improved. It wasn't always great but he had some nice ones. He struggles with power rushers in pass pro. He gets pushed into the pocket a good bit, but still gave Stafford some time to throw.

Anchrum looks like Noteboom. He has the same weakness. He struggles with power pass rushers. His run blocking was a little more consistent than Noteboom but I think that mainly is because he reaches his blocks faster.

Joe has more experience. If Tremayne was given more playing time, I think he possibly could be a little better at run blocking than Joe is. There pass blocking is similar. So even if Noteboom couldn't play, I don't think wed see much of a drop off at RG.

I wouldn't mind seeing Shelley getting a shot at starting either. By all accounts he was pretty good last year. Kendricks is still super young though so I feel like they will try to be patient with him if they feel like he's starting material
