Silver linings?

Last night was Matthew Stafford's highest yardage total EVER as a Ram. 389 yards, 3 TD's, zero INT.

And running game hummed along at over 5 yards a carry (Kyren and Corum combined for 15 carries for 78 yards).

So to my eye, the offense looks efficient and with a ton of weapons and potential.

Kyren's fumble? Corum's fumble? Shula unable to counter the 49er short passing game? Blackburn unable to coach blocking? IMO Shula and Blackburn deserve more blame than McVay last night.

Both the offense and defense have all the tools they need. And ST will be okay as long as Blackburn can prevent blocked kicks. Yes, last night was shitty and disappointing, but I think the Rams will bounce back and remain in the thick of the playoff chase.

McVay has 4 division titles to Shanny 3.... 604 winning % to 547 for Shanahan.

McVay with a better post-season record and a Super Bowl.

Shanny has head-to-head against McVay... but in every other major measurable W-L category McVay has him beat.

Well, yeah, I did say Shanny is a choker in the postseason, which I don't think that applies to McVay. The only postseason game where I thought he really shit the bed was the SB against the Pats, but even in the other losses we've had in the postseason, I really don't think you could fault McVay too much. He certainly wasn't the one who blew the block against Philly last year.

So yeah, Shanny has him head to head, but in no other way.

It's just GD frustrating, because in a lot of those losses, last night included, we had the more talented team.

And to add ... I so fucking hate the 9ers.

Ratboy is a QB killer. How many starting QBs has he had in SF? McVay has had 2, they both happen to be #1 over all picks. Ratboy traded up for the QB he wanted and broke him just like he broke RGME back in the day.

All great points. But I fucking detest losing to SF.

You never know what you’re going to get on TNF, teams can’t prepare and recover normally but the nfl isn’t turning down money under any circumstances

The GSOT didn't blow easy wins. When the got a big lead, it was going to be a long day for the opponent. And they usually beat the ever-loving shit out of bad teams. They played plenty of complete games too, all four quarters, which is something the Rams almost never do. I'm trying to think of the last time they did ... maybe the 2022 50-burger they laid on the Broncos in an otherwise shitty season. But since the end of the 2018 season, the number of really complete games the Rams have played, all four quarters, is probably less than 10.
I wonder if Vermeil has stayed and Martz remained OC, if we had won more than one SB with that powerhouse. I received a signed Warner football for Christmas a few years after he retired. I cried...The guy was Magic.

The special teams needs to be fixed immediately. That many blocked kicks will do in any team. Even if we had lost only one game thus far it would be a concern, but we lost two games to our most (Maybe my most) hated rivals in the NFC.

The loss to the Iggles really hurt because of potential home field. But losing to the whiners may have sealed that deal. Hopefully not, but it really hurt. Not to mention the iggles would be 3-2 instead of us if we make the 40 yard FG.
