Brian Burns is a generational talent and supposedly available. We went all in on that.
Calling Burns generational is very generous. The guy is highly skilled, but, he hasn't even ever cracked double digit sacks. Not that that is the end all be all of a pass rusher, but its fairly indicative of elite talent. Good young talent, but, generational he is not. Perhaps he will one day be.

I didn't look at his stats

I figured if we offered 2 firsts and a second he had to be generational in the Rams opinion

You just don't offer that if the team doesn't believe he is a generational talent

I saw Ramsey lined up plenty on Evans last night in tight coverage.

And.. didn't you point out that Miller dropped a TD?

Brady wasn't getting rid of the ball on a bunch of quick passes all game long, from what I saw. I also saw a defense that was gassed after making a very good stop that should've won the game.

The defense would've held Tampa to 9 points.. on the road.. if the offense wasn't a complete shit show.

Again.. yup... awful last drive. I just like to put context in there.
Miller dropped a TD....covered by Kendricks.
They were going after Kendricks and understandably so.
That said, I don't mind moving Ramsey around etc, but, in that situation how he is not on Evans is beyond me.

Kendricks should be a slot CB. Not an outside CB. With safety help when the slot receiver passes 10 yards

Kendrick was the #2 reason behind bobby Evans for single players leading to a loss.

3rd and 20 from the 47 he straight up whiffed Fournette and allowed 15 yards - this allowed Tampa to kick a FG

he also had a 32-yard penalty which lead to their 2nd Fg

He had a significant hand in nearly all the points we surrendered.

Yeah, with Kendricks on D and Evans on O, we are our own worst enemy. Don't even need great competition to beat us at this point. We'll beat ourselves, thank you very much.

Oh I agree - he should not have been playing outside

As a slot CB - he would probably not be in that position to make plays on his own

On the bright side of things, Troy Hill looked as good as I have ever seen him. He was all over the place Sunday.

I understand the philosophy and the reasoning behind using this defense. They don’t have the personnel to do anything else.

Overall McVay seems to have become overly risk averse. It dominates the entire team. On offense, deciding to give up with five minutes left versus the 49ers is not a good look. Never trying anything but the same old draw play every time they get into a third and long on their side of the field does nothing for morale, nor tells the players he believes in them. If it ‘feels’ like the coach quit, then the team follows suit.

Hopefully they are working on a plan to not only fill the holes on this team this winter but also improve some depth.

Overall our problems are not the defense. So its hard to criticize Morris. The last drive was an epic fail. They should not be giving that much room on the sideline. No timeouts with 44 seconds you make them throw inbounds. Inexcusable. Although I don't know if the players failed or if that was the defense Morris wanted in that situation.

Really unsure why Rochell gets no play time. Even after Durant came back (who was playing over Kendrick) he doesn't play. Kendrick is a liability out there currently. Give either of those guys a chance and your moving in the right direction.

True.
He's good in that 3rd CB roll... throws his body in to the run game.

Staley had the luxury of the team putting up points, getting a lead and then pinning the ears back in the 2nd half/4th Q

I already stated that Kupp has me on ignore so brucebruce didn't know that Kupp thought that brucebruce was responding to OldSchool's comment and not mine when Brucebruce said winner winner chicken dinner

So brucebruce thought Kupp was being sarcastic since Kupp and I are on completely opposite sides of this argument

Um Goff was QB and we know how well he did in 2020. I don't think Staley had much of a luxury.

Sorry I asked that's even more confusing and is @brucebruce your burner??? lmao kidding I'd expect him to answer on his own. Either way though @brucebruce had a good analogy.
