Well no shit. If they traded Matt Stafford at the deadline, we’d all freak out. But if Stetson Bennett lead the team to the Super Bowl, nobody would care either. That’s called hindsight. We are talking about getting rid of their best linebacker and how it affected the team to this point.
Yeah.. I just don't think it's made any difference in the team's record.

Rams played the Seahawks last week... they had EJ on defense.. how'd that work out for them when they needed a stop in overtime, versus what the Rams D did?

The Rams lost some games with Aaron Donald on the field, I guess he wasnt all that good either :eyeroll:. Ditto for Stafford and Puka.

Jones > Reeder. If you don't think it helps having better players on the field then why are you so excited about having back to back good draft classes.

I think it's great to have better players.

But I think that if everyone isn't on the same page, talent absolutely ain't enough.

Team dynamics matter... and if losing one slightly better player made coaches feel like they would get the buy-in they needed, or whatever it was.. seems to be working.

If you don't think team dynamics matter, my assumption would be that you've never played team sports.

That’s why in Reeders case he has been a Bolt that has kept things together. He & Rosenboom both have earned there keep.
All the MONEY (cap space) is tied up on the offense.
It’s been The DEFENSE that has always given The Rams a chance.

T’White was a DISASTER!! Thanks to Whiterspoon for being such a glue.Even against DETROIT in the PLAYOFFS the Rams defense gave The Rams offense a chance to win it.
Your(Mcvay) is going to ask the defense to stop the lions(Goff)one more time on a 3 & out.Put ALL your trust in Whiterspoon vs. St.Brown at home 1 on 1.Your TRUST of the 2023 season ? That’s a tall order to ask,& he almost did it.I was impressed & surprised of how strong that(Amin-Ra) guy is.

This is an absurd take.
If Reeder isn’t hurt, we still are only seeing Speights on ST.
There’s no question having Jones would have made a difference. Would it have equated to more wins? Nobody knows because it’s simply a projection of opinion.
We are where we are and things are looking up. The draft class and UDFA pickups were again amazing.
It doesn’t mean mistakes aren’t/weren’t made.

What's absurd? The team dynamics aspect?

Assume away. I’ll stick to the facts. In that article it sounds like McVay regrets his haste.

And sure, chemistry is important, but coaching often extends beyond the playbook. When a team leader suddenly lets you down, it’s time to coach him up, not erase him.

I'm laughing hard at your first sentence. Re-read it. A couple of times.

You'll stick to facts.. but it "sounds like"..... lol

You are going on speculation. I’m going on what McVay said.

What he said is a factual statement.

What you speculate is in your head.

See the difference?

You are 100% from the start here basing your whole argument on what he meant by what he said. Which is speculation. You're speculating at either a hidden meaning or reading between the lines. You also seem to want to ignore Andrew Whitworths comments that there is more too it than meets the eye.

Oh..
Got it.
It's "in my head"...

Essentially, Whitworth is saying the Rams didn’t want to keep an unhappy player who fell out of favor on the roster, leading to frequent questions for McVay and the coaches about why he wasn’t starting or playing at all.

Whitworth went on to say that “clearly health or performance wasn’t there. Which led to the decision.” And as for the minimal return in the trade, he made a good point that the Cowboys, Chargers and Texans all scrimmaged with the Rams, and none of them traded for Jones despite not being rich with linebacker talent.

Not to mention, teams aren’t exactly prioritizing inside linebackers in today’s NFL.

“Clearly health or performance wasn’t there”.

He looked pretty good with the Titans and Seahawks. I believed that report also, until I saw him play. The Seahawks gave up a fourth round pick for him. You don’t do that for a guy who isn’t performing

You saw the recent article. McVay regrets the decision. He was too hasty.

so..... 2nd impact draft in a row.
I'll take Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, Kam Kinchens, Beaux Limmer and Omar Speights for $1000, Alex.
On the cusp: Karty, J.Whitt, T.Davis, Dedich, McCollough (great cases to be made here)
TBD: Corum, B.Jax (these guys, when they get their opportunity, I predict will also be impactful)

I saw the recent article. Sean regrets trading Jared Goff.

Wanna see how easy "interpretation" is?

Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't.

And Whitworth's comments were about what lead up to the trade. Feel free to go back and look at how many practices he didn't take part in.

He was talking about this year's class. Ethan Evans was last year's class.

I figure you have to include McMahon, Leveston, Schrader, the rookie corners (Wallace, Woods, and Lampkin), and Elias Neal on the "Wait and See" list; they're at least on the roster (Leveston likely would've made the roster if he wasn't injured) or have played a game before being sent to the practice squad..

My bad. I jumped the gun on that one.
