he was, and I remember being estactic when Merlin Olson was drafted in the next draft, then creating the FEARSOME FOURSOME.More than 15 rounds back in the 1970s.
Think Deacon Jones was a 14th round pick in the early-'60s.
Fewer teams but still ... that's a lot of fucking rounds!
I loved Dmarco smack talking McVay if he went against two of the rookie lineman. He said all there would be left for them was "vapor." because he would easily get by them. McVay liked it was coming back on him.Camryn does such a great job. Girl just has a great aura to her for the camera. And of course Demarco is a Rams treasure, he really needs his own show.
I think we did too. It will be fun watching these guys develop and grow this year.I think overall we drafted pretty damn good. Found some good prospects to help build from. I am eager to see what we can do for the upcoming seasons.
Just an observation. We will see if it pans out too. Les is due to hit on one of these upside picks of his.I didn't get that impression but I'm fine with the pick but the one question I have is does it matter? All of these guys are sold to Sean by Les and his scouts.
Again what difference does this distinction make? Do you dislike the pick so very much that you want to lay blame on one or the other? I've never seen you dislike a player so much it's strange usually that's my jobJust an observation. We will see if it pans out too. Les is due to hit on one of these upside picks of his.
Ok here's the long explanation to your question, because it's not an easy logic chain for me.Again what difference does this distinction make? 1. It doesn't matter if it was Snead or McVay's pick to me at least.Ok here's the long explanation to your question, because it's not an easy logic chain for me.
1. Historically we have been stupid with RB. Henderson was a Les Snead pick. We can sidebar on that if you disagree but he was as proven by the Rams post-draft vid that showed the conversation when they made it.
2. Snead's weakness as it were is his tendency to value upside. It's one of the reasons they hired him because Fisher was in place first and his entire plan was to draft high end talent and use his amazing coaching staff to maximize them.
3. McVay loves passcatchy backs which is his contributions to this irritating string of failure we have at RB. I routinely give him shit for this too, so you know better than to say I'm absolving him here.
4. What we have needed so badly at RB is reliability. Yes we know RB has injuries and shit moreso than other positions. But there are backs who demonstrate stability, and certain types who offer more chance of this than others. And yet the Rams somehow manage to find a RB who has a history of let's say not being dependable from the perspective of injury, communication with the coaching staff, and on-field production.
So I think it's a valuable distinction to say that Les Snead, as GM, should have steered McVay to a list of backs to choose from that were longer on stability than upside. That is his role. McVay meanwhile loves raw explosiveness and upside and is an easy sell for this type of pick. But collectively it's an unnecessarily risky direction in a season where we need guys we can depend on.
Now if you think none of this matters we can disagree and move on. No big deal. Typing all this out is kind of irritating so not looking for a back and forth on it just offering up my one cent on the matter.
Sounds like we disagree. Happens.I guess it doesn't matter to me because I don't care to assign blame to one or the other of them because these two will always, in my opinion, be working together.
Side question but somewhat related do you see a scenario where these two guys aren't running the Rams? Can it happen that one leaves and the other stays? Only way I see it is if McVay leaves I think Snead is our GM as long as he wants to be.Sounds like we disagree. Happens.
Yes. I think Les Snead is on the bubble this year. Reasonable chance we have a new GM chosen by McVay this time next year.Side question but somewhat related do you see a scenario where these two guys aren't running the Rams? Got it you don't like Snead that makes sense then all this worrying about a pick. I don't see how Snead is in trouble but that's fine that's where we disagree. Too much worry for me about who's idea a pick was when we in fact know the entire situation especially if people actually watched the two videos in this thread. If you watched them you know the answer to the question unless you glossed over that. The 2nd video I think it was that Iowa posted in like the 3rd or 4th post here answers the question.Yes. I think Les Snead is on the bubble this year. Reasonable chance we have a new GM chosen by McVay this time next year.
Les needs the Rams to outperform expectations IMO. But yes, I know, you and I disagree on this too.
Wrong. I love Snead. I even have gotten to the point where his nervous body language and circular speech patterns are endearing.Got it you don't like Snead that makes sense then all this worrying about a pick.
TBH I don't worry about that and spend no time thinking about it. But if you'd watched these video's you'd know the answer to your own questions. They were talking about watching tape and Les said Sean is the worst ever at watching tape. They'll sit down to watch a guy's tape and Sean is watching the offensive and defensive schemes and not paying any attention to the player he's supposed to. Sean admits that he does this that he can't be trusted to focus on watching a players tape.Wrong. I love Snead. I even have gotten to the point where his nervous body language and circular speech patterns are endearing.
But I think McVay is the franchise. He is the special element here. So if the team loses this year, even though we all know there's a good chance they're gonna lose more than they're used to losing, do you think nobody will eat that shit?
So way I look at it Les needs this roster to perform this year. Where that line is I don't know. But I think there is a point where he will be the scapegoat and they remake the front office to be able to draft and develop going forward.
And look. Can you honestly tell me that Les is the guy you want to draft and develop. Or as a top franchise that we are can we do better.
So no I don't hate Les. But I'm nothing if not practical on these matters and I understand the blame game in human interdynamics. But hey maybe I'm wrong on this one too we will see. If we're lucky we win a lot, sneak into the playoffs, and Les cements his position.
You asked dude. So you spent time worrying about what I think about it.TBH I don't worry about that and spend no time thinking about it.
LOL I asked why you were worried about it. I'm not worrying about those two and won't worry about replacing them until they leave because I don't see any way either is fired. You asked dude. So you spent time worrying about what I think about it.
I'll take both our guys over the SF duo.On the bright side at least Snead is better than Lynch….
