This is my go to during stressful Rams game (which is too often) or when the Dodgers go to the bullpen which explains the empty bottle. But most of the time friends and family buy me MACALLEN 12 because I work on everyone's car. My sister in law bought two of these two months ago when I changed out the radiator fan, radiator and all the impossible coolant hoses on her 2 Series BMW... Saved her $4000.... I should have asked for three bottles. lol

Yeah, I can't do those, haha. Those sucker's taste like a bonfire!!! I got free bottles of the Laphroaig and Buffalo Trace for a virtual whiskey tasting during Covid. Some of my vendors held those to try and sell us stuff, haha. I had to give it to my bro in law..... Who gave it to his father after he couldn't drink it, haha. Not sure where it went from there...

Can't wait to see what you think of it. As @ScotsRam said, you will love or hate it. It tasted like a fireman's boot to me.
Yeah… I am kind of a peat head and the Ardbeg is kind of at the edge. Very dry and hugely peaty. The Laphroaig is definitely smoother but still with a huge peat punch. I have always been a Laphroaig fan but had never tried this Quarter Cask.

I like them both but the Ardbeg is about as peaty as I’d want to go.

Do you ever try it neat? I cam't cope with ice in mine. I would never tell someone else how to drink it though!

That would be a dangerous little walk.
It was. We smoked Cubans outside one of them, sun splitting the sky and looking out over the bay. I think it was at Lagavulin and we had a local beer and a measure of some fancy distillery exclusive whisky. One of the better hours of my life.

Always. I think ice ruins a good Scotch. I do like trying it in different style glasses. Each glass can bring out different characteristics.

No worries.... I'm always down to try something different.

For some reason I like chomping on the ice afterwards. When my pals come over (49er fans...fuckers) they have it neat and go out back to suck on a stogie..... I don't like cigars and I quit smoking pot when I was 11 years old... But I do like the aroma both vices give off.

I wasn't a baby...lol.

It was a trickle down thing from my older brother ( 5 years older) and we all knew where he hid it and of course we would watch my brother with his pals so I knew how to smoke it.

But I noticed I was starting to have some issues with my paper route (Herald Examiner).... My Route Signatory was getting calls from clients they weren't getting their news papers, and I never had that issue prior to smoking, so I quit.

Well that makes sense.
I was afraid you were gonna say you didnt feel safe behind the wheel and that other parents were looking at you funny when dropping the kids off at school.... Lol

That was the 70's..... My pops would get pretty wasted after a big win in a little league game and the other coaches would spill my dad in the back seat and I would drive home. We all learned how to ride dirt bikes at the age of six, so driving a car was pretty straight forward. Having an older brother that taught us how to drive at 10 or 11 was a great benefit for sure.

I think the most fun I had with my dad (The Meat Cutters Union) would go on strike at Gemco, and me and my younger brother were brought along to keep watch while they slashed the tires and pored maple syrup in the gas tanks of all the "scabs' vehicles... I felt such a strong sense of importance when I got home, and having my own picket sign to me was the coolest thing ever.
