There is just something about being a playoff team opposed to not making the playoffs. It sure makes for a different narrative in the offseason. And it gives the team a renewed sense of energy knowing you're good enough but fell short in the playoffs. Makes them more determined to come back stronger next season. I just don't know if we have what it takes to make the playoffs. We seem to do the things bad teams do when they lose games.

Agreed. This team finds ways to LOSE. I would blame it all on the young talent and/or turnover, but it is the coach and veteran players who are most to blame in our Cin and Pitt losses.

We have squandered away 2 victories this season and left points on the field because of crappy decision making, poor playcalling and dumb mistakes.

I wish we had a hard ass, tenured assistant coach to check McVay when he starts going off the rails. No more Mr. Nice Guy. He should be lighting up these refs instead of taking the high road all the time. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Or we can just continue to smile and get bent over week after week. I'm encouraged we shit canned Maher. Hopefully it puts others on notice. Let's make corrections, because playoffs are there for the taking

Yeah, this play dictated the course of the game. Wonder if it was scripted or just a bad play call. Either way it was situationally unaware.

They could be a playoff team if they quit making game changing mistakes every week. It’s hard to blame the young guys, since they are still learning the game in real time. Drops by Kupp and the big one by Higgle (expected) , and Stafford’s gift 7 are what’s killing momentum. Even the TD to Atwell was a fluke , and could’ve been picked. With the route running ability of Kupp and Puka , we should be able to run quick 5 to 10 yard routes all day. Jet sweeps are lost in the playbook somewhere I guess. The defense is what it is. Decent for awhile and then the wheels come off. The O needs to do more and let the D gain some confidence. I don’t care if it one and done in the playoffs , I just want to see them make it.

I agree with what most of you all are saying. The Rams have no one to blame but themselves. They are wildly inconsistent. But to try and narrow it down some... what the hell has happened to the offense? The line has added TWO great guards. Puka has been sensational. Kyren Williams has been very good at times. So what has happened?

Well, for one, Cooper Kupp has not been on the same page as Stafford. Not surprising since they missed all of training camp and the first 4 games. McVay should have sensed this and not gone to Kupp so much in these last 3 games. Granted Kupp had 1 good game since coming back but Puka was riding the hot hand. And I was sorry to see Puka's numbers go down when Kupp came back. Glad to see Stafford looking for him more last game. Let Kupp get some rust off before throwing to him 15 times per game.

The offense was supposed to score a lot of points this year. No one here was worried about the offense in the off-season. Well, the Rams are averaging 22 points per game, Stafford has thrown very few touchdown passes, and nothing is coming easy. Like many others, I blame much of it on the play-calling. The Rams offense just isn't exciting or innovative or surprising any more. Every play looks the same. I guess it is fair to say that none of the playmakers are doing well except for Puka. That has to change and it starts with the play calling and McVay.

We all want a stud LT or CB or Edge to be drafted first next year, but I'd rather draft another Todd Gurley if he is there. At least a stud RB will make the team exciting again. Gurley was capable of taking to the house on every play and that is something that is missing from this offense. The Ram's offense don't get any easy points and that has to change.

Pretty well? He leads all Ram receivers in TDs and YPC. He's gone across the middle and taken shots, remaining healthy. He has done everything McVay has asked of him while not being that frail, smurf many said he was. He's has a terrific set of hands and has played better than "pretty well". Don't fear the Creed Humphrey lovers - Tutu bashers....you can say it.......he's played damn well.

Just DVR it. The games are better that way.Having a hard time rewatching this Steelers game.

I actually was watching the redzone & saw The Rams start the 2nd half giving up a TD.When I went back to it I saw the ZERO backfield & then the TJ Watt INT & got disgusted.Then was told how they lost by not having anytime outs.
Saw the Whiterspoon PI & was FING PISSED OFF!! He made such an excellent play on the ball & the ball was past & over the WR’s head.

If you look at Sean Mcvay’s last as a HC he had a record of not ever really losing after being ahead after the 1st. Half which was unbelievable.NOW I question his adjustments going into the 2nd Half!!

"Pretty well" seems like an opportune description not taking into account Kupp's return and ignoring 2 of those 4 catches were TDs. Instead of getting the targets (and receptions) he's just getting the TDs.

I think both our posts were Pretty reasonable and Pretty accurate. At least, I am Pretty sure.

Targets can be a reflection on play calling (coach), which receivers are consistently being looked at (quarterback) and whether the receiver is getting open (wide receiver).

Touchdowns are Huge, and should be noted. I thought the TD on Sunday was a dangerous heave and prayer.

I’m an Atwell fan; and I’m happy with his play through seven games. Have posted such half-a-dozen-times.

Just thought the description by @FrantikRam that Atwell has played Pretty well was Pretty reasonable.

As we have the trade deadline looming, I'm hoping the Rams are buyers, but not necessarily for big ticket items. Maybe a vet who could help this year with a Day 3 price tag. I'd only make a bigger move if it was for someone who will be a long-term core player.

So, yeah... I guess I haven't given up on this season just yet!
