It's getting to the point where I think the receiver position is just like the Browns QB position.

Neither us or the Browns can draft the right guy for the position.

Prove me wrong, Quick and Tavon. Bust out!

Quick did Jan or is the same way. We don't need him. We needed Robinson

I'm not saying that we needed Watkins over Robinson...We haven't had a legitimate long term WR starter since Holt.

I was just likening our problems finding a WR, to the problems the Browns have in finding a QB.

If Quick lives up to the hype I think we're good at WR, especially once we get Bailey back.

Don't forget about Britt. Those of us that can't go to TC haven't even seen him catch a pass yet. Hopefully we will tomorrow.

I also saw the vine of that killer one handed catch he made last week.
Now none of this is to say I'd prefer him over Robinson, and I don't think he'll have a great impact this season. Just some exciting plays by an intriguing player.
I am more than happy with having Robinson on the Rams...but I can emphatically say I'd still rather have Sammy Watkins.

I sure hope the wideout core steps up. They will never be all pros way Fisher likes his offense but they have to be ready when called upon.

I really wish we would have drafted him- I get the Robinson pick- and not opposed to it- made sense- but man this guy is just that good. I think he will end up one of the better Wrs in the NFL and wish Sam had this type of legitimate threat on the outside.
I'll go on record and say Wood will end up dith either more catches,or yards than Watson this season.

I am a HUGE Watkins fan. I wanted to draft him. I think he's going to be very good.

But... I am 100% a Robinson fan now. Equally a great talent, potentially, just like Watkins. No guarantees either way... No second guessing our decision.

Go Rams!

I agree with @CoachO here. One on one WR/CB drills don't mean much. I'd say 80% of the time the WR will win because the CB has to defend such a large space for 3 or 4 seconds. At least in a game situation, if they are one on one, the WR will have less time to get open since the throw will be hurried.

A team has just so many picks. Watkins is a soon-to-be-great player. He would've been a very sexy pick for us, sure. Although, I certainly don't lament 'not' picking him. Fundamentalists will pick the Offensive Tackle, over the Wide Receiver, just about every time (if they're graded equally). All in all, I'm very pleased with the Robinson pick. It was the smarter move. While I enjoy and admire watching great talent, I'm not concerned about Watkins. I'm behind Robinson & the Rams.

Although, I feel like Greg Williams will mask these areas fairly well, I feel we still have holes - or could be upgraded - at safety and strong-side linebacker next year. And on the other side of the ball, I think we could use new blood at center and offensive tackle (only if we can't re-sign Barksdale). Hopefully we will continue the development and competitiveness of this squad. With that being said, my focus will be on praying that our players stay healthy; hoping that Sam and Jake come back 100%; watching our young fellows develop, and continue stepping it up to the next level; and cheering our team on, to compete either win the division and/or make the playoffs (as a wild card). I like our chances. Jeff Fisher definitely has us on the right track.

i really wish the rams would have took sammy watkins...but well see
they think greg robinson will be a better player... and time will tell
im not upset about the pick by any means...it makes sense but ill just watch and let it play out

So Watkins (a Top 10 Pick) killed a 5th string CB that probably won't make the team.

Shocking.

Plus the CB usually has help.

They definitely favor the WR...especially on a double move.
