SB has to be a bit nervous now that another team mate named Long has torn his ACL :palm:

Thing is, the Eagles were a playoff team for the last two years without Bradford, and even won games with Sanchez as the QB. Don't even bother worrying about getting the 1st pick of the 2nd round, it's not going to be close to that.

It's a long shot, of course. but Chip has been busily dumping/trading players who were too uppity for his taste. At some point that's got to hurt his team depth. In terms of Sanchez - the Rams probably would have had a winning record with Sanchez last season. He's not good, but he is far from the worst backup out there.

Guys. Remember that the Cheatriots had to give up their 2016 first rounder for their role in Deflategate.

I hope Bradford plays and the Eagles suck so that we can get the #32 overall pick. I'll gladly give up a fourth round pick for essentially a first round pick.

I don't want Bradford to succeed. I don't want the Eagles to succeed. I want them to fail miserably and have the #31 and #32 picks.
lol I can see where you are going with that but NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!

It always cracks me up when a ROD member mentions how something would go in a poll. Why not start one yourself?

I thought there was a rule about multiple threads on the same subject...that and extreme laziness.

That makes little sense on the Eagles part.. here.

In addition to Foles, the Rams will also get Philadelphia's fourth-round pick in 2015 and second-round pick in 2016. The Eagles will get St. Louis' fifth-round pick in 2015 in addition to Bradford.

The Eagles can also pick up a conditional pick in 2016 based on how many snaps Bradford takes. If Bradford plays less than 50 percent the Eagles will get a 4th-round pick, if he does not play at all it becomes a 3rd-rounder. If Bradford plays more than 50 percent of snaps the Eagles will not receive any additional compensation.

I pray that he goes to the Pro Bowl not only for us but for Sam as well.

If Bradford makes the Pro Bowl the Eagles are most likely making the playoffs, say the Eagles lose in the 1st round then the difference between the #33 pick and Bradford making the Pro Bowl (pick #54 at best) is the equivalent to a top 10 pick in the 3rd round.

The only way the Rams lose out under scenario 1 over scenario 2 is if Bradford gets injured in pre-season and the Rams have a worse record than last year (or the Eagles pull a Saints and have a D so bad that a Pro Bowl QB still only gets them to 7-9).

How about the eagles make the playoffs and the Rams make the playoffs? I rather shoot for that scenario than any other.

You can shoot for whatever scenario you want, I'm not going to stop you :). I'd just rather shoot for the one that maximises the benefit to the Rams.

Wow. Let the Eagles go 2-14, pick 1st in the draft and the Rams get the 1st pick in round 2.
All about the Rams in my book. And I hate the Eagles, so there's that

Good point. We do try to consolidate a topic into as few threads as possible but then again it may just be my OCD symptoms kicking in. :sneaky: I like polls and it seems like most members here do as well. If you or anyone else wants to make a poll on Sam Bradford, go for it. If you don't know how, pm me and I'll lead you through it.

Who is Sam throwing to up there? Won't that be a factor? Didn't the Eagles purge their group of receivers? Don't know; just asking for insights.

I personally don't want him to do well, mainly because he was never 'lights out' for us -- despite all the hype. I don't wish him injury, of course, but it would be nice (in my evil little world) if he did no better than he did while he was with us. I would be okay if he led them to a 7-9 season. . .

My thoughts exactly... He has plain average receivers at best with Riley Cooper as their #1. Cooper was a decent #3 guy, but with departures he is now moved up. With being a #1 and drawing double coverage, he will be nowhere as effective as he was--he's just not a #1. Their offensive line is no better than what we started over the last couple years. So Bradford has really moved into the exact same situation he was at here except he does have a better running back. They will stack the box against Bradford the same way they did here and I believe Murray will also be less effective. Stack the box and make Bradford beat you with great decisions. Why would Bradford all of a sudden be able to do this? New color uniform?? I just don't see any way he is successful with the talent there. Great players surrounding Bradford and he will be ok--but Bradford will not make average players better--we have seen this over and over. I was saying at the time that Demarco Murray would be stupid to sign there because they will stack the box and he will not be as effective--his best bet was to stay at Dallas... JMO

I don't think your catching my drift gents. It's not that I don't want them to finish dead last but reality strikes it's ugly head and dispels fantasy. I can think of a minimum of 6 teams that will finish worse than the Eagles for sure and probably could add 5-7 more. Personally I think they'll be in the hunt for the wildcard race.

And again, you're likely right. But the Eagles have dumped a bunch of players supposedly at least partially because of personality conflicts with the coach, and have only replaced some of them - which has to hurt their depth. Their big offseason acquisitions are a QB with a very long injury history and a RB who is going from running behind the best OL in the league to an OL which will be much less good, and which will be without their All Pro guard who was cut. They may be good - but it won't take THAT much bad luck for their season to go downhill very fast - and given how Chip has responded to players with attitudes he doesn't like he could very easily lose control quickly. I wouldn't bet on it, but it wouldn't shock me either.

Well, who woulda thought the Redskins would have gone from a playoff team to the #2 pick in thedraft?
That worked out well
Philly is a train wreck waiting to happen. Not a stretch to hope lightning strikes twice

The same can be said for any team, a bit of this going wrong, and injury here, an injury there and Wallah! A crap pie! Everyone has their opinion which is fine but I don't think the change is going to be as drastic as most people think it's going to be with Kelly purging over paid veteran players.

That doesn't happen every year, it can but very unlikely. The writing was on the wall for the Redskins when Shannahan broke his new toy QB after playing him after not being cleared and it was all down hill from there. Team was made the playoffs being in a shit division..

Yeah it's unlikely, but I was using two extreme scenarios to demonstrate my point. I'd take the #63 pick and Bradford having a poor season over the #64 pick and Bradford having a great season, because it benefits the Rams.

Ok so your splitting hairs because of hypotheticals? I understand the outlook to wanting to get the best possible picks just like the RG3 Redskins trade #1's but I don't see the Eagles finishing any worse than we did last year at 6-10. More than likely a 10-6 or 9-7 record.

A big part of me really likes this comment. I'm not sure exactly why I want Kelly to fail so badly. I actually used t like the Eagle when Reid was there.

No One Has More Work To Do Than Sam Bradford
by Jenny Vrentas

sam-bradford-mmqb-650-362.jpg

I think it’s hard to imagine an NFL player with more work to do in training camp than Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford.

On Sunday, just 43 days before Philadelphia’s season opener, he took off the brace on his left knee and did his first 11-on-11 work since tearing his left ACL for the second time last August. In 43 days, he has to shake off nearly a year’s worth of rust, become comfortable directing a new offense and build up the endurance required to run Chip Kelly’s up-tempo system.
