He seems like a more polished but slightly less athletic fs that they visited. I think it was David Jones. It makes me think we definitely take him too. He also plays cb and special teams and return kicks. I would be very happy if we get him too

Where does this leave Joyner because Joyner is not a cornerback.

Joyner plays FS in Base and Johnson comes in for him in nickel when joyner moves to the slot.
I think this kid starts as a rookie....and the writing is on the wall for Joyner.

I'd be a little nervous if I was Brian Randolph too....and Cody....Davis.

Probably will swap the slot CB/free safety position occasionally with Joyner depending on opposing matchups. I expect a lot of tricky looks in the middle and center field in our nickel packages.

Finally confirmation on my opinion that the midget Joyner is to little and our coaches think that as well! Lol
Or he comes into the slot to replace Joyner as he moves to FS. His height is a bigger asset in the slot IMO. Height is not a big deal at FS.

Joyner's ability to cover, put receivers' heads on a swivel, and tackle with angst make him a good bet for FS.

My guess is that Johnson is signed to take over in the slot - not to replace Joyner.

Really fluid with the ability to play safety and corner. Seems to have some decent ball skills as well.

Nice to see the defense addressed in some way here.

Anyone else notice our new safety supports the name of both our best CBs we had and have jj and Johnson lol

Secondary seems set unless there's an undeniable talent for an outside corner spot. Would not have been in love with Cody Davis and company slotting in for Joyner in nickel situations when he moves to slot.

Let's not forget, we'll be in nickel and dime far more than we'll be in base defense so FS when Joyner is in slot is pretty much a starter.

Then my question is who will the Cb's be? Obviously Tru will be one... I'm thinking if not safety he'll be the other CB. If that is the case we will call our coverage Johnson & Johnson! Coverage you can count on!!!

Ps I'm copyrighting that here on ROD and I get 5 ROD anybody mentions " Johnson & Johnson "coverage!

He's a bottom of the 3rd round rookie man. There's no need for him to start. He's depth for now until he works his way onto the field. They don't have to rush him.
