It really depends on Detroit beating Cowboys in week 17. If they do (and rams beat nyg) then rams v niners will likely be the latest game scheduled for week 18 (SNF) to stretch the drama out with number 1 seed hanging in the balance.you're right shovel..
week 18 time slots are determined by playoff possibilities...
go rams

I believe if we beat the Giants and Seattle loses, we at minimum clinch the 7th seed.Chicago, Pittsburgh and Tampa. Beat the Giants and those 3 win, I don't think we can be eliminated.
We just need to win and Pittsburgh to win to clinch a playoff spot.Chicago, Pittsburgh and Tampa. Beat the Giants and those 3 win, I don't think we can be eliminated.
Correct.I believe if we beat the Giants and Seattle loses, we at minimum clinch the 7th seed.
That Detroit/Dallas tilt is a huge game!It really depends on Detroit beating Cowboys in week 17. If they do (and rams beat nyg) then rams v niners will likely be the latest game scheduled for week 18 (SNF) to stretch the drama out with number 1 seed hanging in the balance.
The only other worthy game for Sunday night is Miami v Buffalo.
That sucks. Need help.NFL.com says if we beat NYG we have an 88% chance of making the playoffs.
That sucks. Need help.
I got you. I tried to get the thread back on track asking if there were any more interests besides Vikings/Packers. I think El Chapo put up a couple of choices on this or another thread and I too went with the Steelers as the easiest path to the playoffs.Yea that was kind of the point of the thread. That 88% is basically saying that there is only a 12% chance that the scenario below happens, but I feel like this is somewhat likely:
Week 17:
Packers/Vikings - someone wins
Seahawks beat Steelers
Cowboys beat Lions - this one is significant because if this happens and the Eagles beat the Cardinals and Niners beat the Commodes, the Lions are locked into the 3 seed, rendering their week 18 game against the Vikings meaningless - all three (Cowboys/Eagles/Niners) are HEAVY favorites
All of those things are very likely to happen IMO, but hoping for the Steelers as that is our best shot. Also will be rooting like crazy for the Lions this week.
Week 18 (assuming the above plays out):
Vikings beat Lions (if they're LOCKED into the 3 seed, why wouldn't they rest??)
Packers beat Bears
Seahawks beat Cardinals
Again, if the Lions rest, the Vikings/Packers/Seahawks will be favorites.
We technically control our destiny either way, but pretty wild that we would basically need an upset to occur if we end up losing to the Niners.
Re lions vikings week 18 they try to keep their rival out of the playoffs. Not saying a full fledged effort but they do try for that imoYea that was kind of the point of the thread. If the Lions beat the Cowboys Saturday, they will have a shot at Homfeld.Yea that was kind of the point of the thread. That 88% is basically saying that there is only a 12% chance that the scenario below happens, but I feel like this is somewhat likely:

Yeah, outside of the obvious, this is a big one. If Detroit can beat Dallas, it puts all sorts of cards in play for the final week.If the Lions beat the Cowboys Saturday, they will have a shot at Homfeld.
I know one darn thing we definitely gave the ravens a better match than the Niners did…so there’s that…Yea its getting a bit like where is Waldo. Waldo being that team we need to win.
But I am simplifying it to this. Root for the Niners vs the Ravens. Then they rest starters vs us and we win out.
Also, we can beat the Niners if we play our game. We shut the run down, their Oline is suspect and our offense is humming, which a physical brand to match whatever they bring.
