Jason Garrett is an awful coach. He was a backup QB, so let's make him a QB coach. He sucked as an OC, so let's make him head coach. He has SINGLE-HANDEDLY lost us games with bad clock management. He iced OUR kicker against AZ. This year, on a 4th & 3 in the redzone, while down 20 POINTS, he calls out the FG unit. How much of a giant vagina do you have to be? But, Jerruh gets to play coach, Jason is his puppett, and we get to continue to suffer because our narccisitic owner likes to use his NFL team as a toy.

I think that Jaws likes Foles and thinks that Fisher has screwed up Foles as QB. Some truth to that!
I found it very interesting that Mad Mike had nice things to say about Nick Foles. Whether he was just being nice I am not sure. In actual training camp Mike is notorious for putting his QBs through the ringer.
That just isn't true. It was the best deal to get rid of Bradford's contract and move forward with a guy who had a good year before being injured and showed some upside. The trade had nothing to do with what Fisher wanted long term for the QB.
First what was the job Fisher was brought in to do?
Second, well DUH!! Fisher and crew have already done all the heavy lifting on cleaning up the POS he inherited. Just like in SF when HArbaugh took over.
The situations are nothing alike. And no one on this page has any idea about what Fisher and Kronke talked about or agreed to when he was hired.
I'm a little disappointed that that was the only thing you said.
This was a huge challenge for any one to take on. The huge trade with Washington was a great start for a the new crew in rebuilding an organization that had been torn down to the worst in NFL history.
The team had to be gutted the from office rebuilt everything right down to the pictures hanging in the building were changed.
On top of that the stadium contract was a disaster waiting to fall apart which meant the move was in play from day 1. It wasn't a for sure thing but it was there and it was something that could affect free agents even after the Rams had proved they were on the upswing.
This was the biggest make over in NFL history and thinking winning was the bottom line for this crew is naive. And, I don't for a second think you believe that is the only thing they were brought in for.
The move will affect how they operate for the next couple of years but Kronke has the team he wanted running things. Now we'll see if winning is the measuring stick going into the new stadium.

I like the guy (Fish), not enamored with the job he's done. Have we seen improvements? Of course, but have we seen stagnation if not outright decline in other areas? I'm afraid so. And to claim otherwise would be a lie. We were historically awful on 3rd downs, the pass game took a big step back even with the OROY at running back.
The team has been setback by QB woes, but isn't Fish partly to blame for not having a better plan than Clemens, Hill or Davis? 2013 I can forgive, but how do you not double down in 2014 when your LT and QB are recovering from ACL injuries?
Lastly, I've thought a lot about what impact a steady head coach has over the move process. I don't see how Fisher's continued presence past this year would make a difference. Sure, this offseason there will be a lot of noise, players relocating, new locale for camp and all that. Beyond this spring and summer though, we shouldn't need a babysitter for these guys, right? If it's another underwhelming showing for this team, should they really feel the need to hold onto the coach because there's a new stadium 3 years away? That seems crazy. Each year a new head coach starts somewhere in the NFL and integrates dozens of rookies and FA acquisitions to a "new city". This situation after 2016 isn't really that different. Certainly I don't think it merits an extension just because Fish has seen it before.

Yeah, but most of your games are against non-divisional opponents......and Fisher lost 7 games to non-divisional opponents last year
I am going to support Fisher while he is my teams coach, but when do the excuses stop?

And, since the drafting of a QB in the First round has been debated here in the other threads, who would develop J Goff if the Rams drafted him? Rob Boras? he has no experience that I know with QB's . Mike Groh? other than coaching QB's & WR's @ Viginia in '03 & '04, he has only coached WR's at the NFL level. So, this leaves Chris Weinke. Are we going to trust this duty to Weinke?
It's the only thing that needed to be said. I didn't say win from day one. But he's a NFL Head Coach. His job is to win. He's been given an eternity in the coaching world with nothing to show for it. What do you think Fisher's job was? To keep the Rams at 7-9?
He's failed us so far. And personally, I would have moved on after 2015. But the Rams didn't. They'll look awfully foolish if he fails to get the Rams to the playoffs (or even a winning season) for the 5th year in a row.
Who do you have in mind? Fisher has put several people on staff to develop QBs, but let's not pretend we've had the cream of the crop at the position on this team since he took over. Which coaches in the league have been able to get more out of Bradford, Clemens, Davis, Hill, Foles, or Keenum and turn them into elite QBs?
Along those lines, why do QBs like Manning, Brady, Rodgers, Brees and Palmer do well no matter who the assistant coaches are?

I am not a big Fisher fan and think he is mediocre, but he is not awful. Lineman and spags were awful.
I still feel Fisher is a good bridge coach. Take a team out of the gutter and make them a middle of the road team with a lot of special players at key positions, but doesn't do enough to get them over the hump. I hope I am wrong but doubt it.
When the new stadium is built, I think we will have a new HC unless Fisher gives us a few of his random playoff seasons he pulls out of a hat.

I'd like nothing more than to smugly sit back in the knowledge that the Rams at least don't have a d!ckhead owner, that they now have one of the better front offices in the league, but of course the Rams can't win actual games. So, yeah, I feel your pain. I am tired of the highlight of my season being the draft.
That describes spags perfectly; a sackless coach. Only difference is spags had some success as a coordinator. You guys are fkd as long as he is HC. And as long as jerruh is GM....

His 2014 was worse than Austin Davis' there was nothing good about it other than the team's win loss record.
So why give him 2 additional years?
Who would have been the QB in 2015? We would not have gotten either of the top two so Mannion still? He wasn't ready based on how they dealt with him. So then they would have started ???
2013 he was amazing 2014 not as good and injured.
Why the extension I still don't have a clue, that is one of the worst moves they have made IMO

Fisher gets a lot of credit for 're organizing talent. I think he and Snead are a very good combo, that has found a bit of a groove where they are finding great players early and hidden gems late. The trouble though is that drafting QBs is different IMO. You don't just look for freakish athleticism. There are so many intangibles. And it is such a complex position. I don't think Fisher has a clue about the position so his mantra is to play it safe on the field. He saw Foles interception rate and got a stiffy. He was blinded by it and overlooked the shortcomings.
Mike isn't working in the league. It wouldn't be good to bad mouth any players when there is a potential job at stake. Best just to be nice in all things.
