He's HUGE and he's a very BAD MAN for defensive linemen. Translation... he's a Fucking Beast when healthy.

I've heard these shoulder surgeries make the shoulders almost indestructible.

I hope he's mauling the shit out of our opponents all year long.

Great news I hope it is his best year as a Ram and his prediction for years to come comes true. A healthy RS can oly be a good thing for the Rams.:yess:

Man what a boost for the offense if Robinson finally figures it out (hes been working his ass off this offseason) Brown was a beast last year if he and saffold stay healthy with big Rob on the right side Gurley may break the single season rushing record.

*If* this guy can stay healthy, it is scary how good the o-line can be

He has the potential to be a pro bowl guard if he stays 100%
I might agree with you but that's a very big IF, when your depending on RS remaining healthy. ;)

The only time we saw anything close to Saffold being a pro bowl OG was when RS only started F I V E games @ right OG three seasons ago. Much has happen to RS since then. Since that 2013 season I have not seen anything close coming from him that would compare to a pro bowl OL'er. In fact If it were left up to me, I would not plan for RS to start in this 2016 OL due to his poor overall lack of performance the last two seasons. RS would go into this season as the #1 game day back up at this time. I would hope that going in this direction Rams finally could get a full healthy season out of RS for a big change. Last time that happened was back in 2010 his rookie season as a starting OLT.

Rams have invested greatly in this young OL. Currently they have SIX OLG starting candidates in Garrett Reynolds, Jamon Brown, Rodger Saffold, Demetrius Rhaney, Darrell Williams & Brian Folkerts. On the right side Rams have FIVE Cody Wichmann, Rodger Saffold, Garrett Reynolds, David Arkin & Andrew Donnal. I say get those young OG's as much time with the number ones as possible. One thing RS does not need is any of those reps.

I would use this this plan to work on getting RS used to being healthy instead of being UN-healthy. As a back RS would also work on using RS's outstanding brain to get him some time as a back up center! I think that having RS available to play all five OL post if need be would be a good way to get our $$$ worth out of him...otherwise we will have another injured or IR Ol'er on the payroll. I think that RS could be a dandy reserve center behind Tim Barnes.

The Rams seem to always having injuries to their OL'ers. Rams had only 2/5th of the 2015 starting OL remain standing. They lost a total of 4 who were starting at the time they were injured. Back in 2014 they lost 3 starters & in 2013 they lost 4. Not much to build on when you have so many injuries to your starting OL. RS has been a very big part of these injuries. If you want to feel good about RS then I would think of RS as backing up Havenstein @ ORT or Robinson @ OLT or Jamon Brown or Garrett Reynolds @ OLG or Wichmann @ ORG or just maybe even Tim Barnes @ center....RS never looked so good!

Sadly, it's gotten to the point where I don't even include Saffold in my thoughts about the starting OL.

I find myself weighing the pros and cons of the various other players at the two OG positions until something reminds me that Saffold is still on the roster. That's weird, huh?

Same thing with Quick, actually.

BOTH players have missed so much time due to injuries and disappointed when on the field that I guess I've sorta mentally tuned them out. It's almost like neither are "real" anymore. Just not really expecting much from either at this point.

Doubt if Bailey ever sees the field again, either. Sigh...

Still the best lineman on team....Still a team leader....Love his fire...will he stay healthy? History says no.....:palm:

I was looking for this. My thoughts exactly. I hate saying it but I can't rely on Rodger when I think of the o- line. More of a swing plug and play back up,
