With the 12th pick in the 2016 National Football League Draft, the New Orleans Saints select.... Shaq Lawson, defensive end from Clemson University.

That's a great pick IMO. Really like Lawson and I think he's going to be an impact DE in this league.

With the 15th Pick the Rams select CB Mackensie Alexander, Clemson.

Im sure this will go over like a Led Zeppelin but with our first 2 options are off the board Alexander was the highest graded player on the board.

With the #16 pick in the 2016 R.O.D MOCK DRAFT the Detroit Lions select

NOAH SPENCE, DE – EASTERN KENTUCKY

I am "ecstatic" to have Noah Spence to pair up with Ziggy Ansah.
HE IS EXPLOSIVE AND RELENTLESS which is exactly what this defense needs.
Bookending with Ansah will help the tackles tremendously, guys like Ngata & Walker, and in a super deep draft with DT’s put a premium on DE. Couldn’t pass on Spence. A potential superstar for Teryl Austin to mold and mentor.

We are hoping part of our plan to keep our QB upright also includes a stout defensive line to compliment our young exciting secondary, and the return of DeAndre Levy, we are closer to be a Dominate Defense in 2016.

Well he is a full inch taller than Tye Hill, so we've got that goin' for us.
Which is nice.

I just looked up the stats I have on him and he had a 39.5 inch vert. at the combine too!! Not Bad! But I might have gone with Darron Lee from Ohio state, I'm high on him!

He's another guy with some awesome speed

With the 15th Pick the Rams select CB Mackensie Alexander, Clemson.

Im sure this will go over like a Led Zeppelin but with our first 2 options are off the board Alexander was the highest graded player on the board.

I guess I'll be that "dick" this time. I think this to be a terrible situation for the Rams. First, the success rate on first round corners has to be like 20%. It seems to be one of the toughest positions to scout. Look at all the huge busts in the last couple years alone, Claiborne, that dude in Cleveland that nobody even knows anymore, think his name was Justin something... Second, highest graded player or not, when you're a team like the Rams, you need to take the highest graded player at position of need IMO. This kid probably wouldn't even play. Tru and Gaines are starting. And I have a hard time seeing Alexander beating out Roberson or even Joyner, as a rookie. The Rams defense is built to win now. Can't take these types that will maybe make an impact in the future. You need to take a guy you think will make a big impact right away. I would have reached on a Corey Coleman or even Josh Doctson because we are so desperately thin at receiver. Just my opinion of course. I'll give you credit, because you really did try and trade back, which is what I hope the Rams would do, if the draft turned out the way ours is.

MACKENSIE ALEXANDER, CB
PROJECTED RANKING
OVERALL 21
POSITION 3
PROJ. RND 1

PLAYER OVERVIEW
After redshirting in 2013 as the No. 4 overall recruit (ESPN) in the nation, Alexander earned a starting job in 2014 and set a school record for on-field snaps by a freshman. He had his share of youthful mistakes and his production was less than stellar (21 tackles, zero interceptions), but he also flashed the athletic upside scouts seek at the position.

In 2015 as a redshirt sophomore, Alexander projected as a first-round talent in August and cemented that status with a first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference season that included zero touchdowns allowed in man coverage. Rarely challenged, he had 571 snaps as a sophomore and just five passes defensed.

STRENGTHS WEAKNESSES

STRENGTHS: He is a quick-footed athlete to transition and play sticky in press-man coverage, keeping one eye on the ball and the other on his receiver. A brash competitor and plays with a swagger that allows him to survive on an island. His light feet, fluid hips and aggressive nature has kept opposing quarterbacks from challenging him much in 2015. Only a redshirt sophomore, but turned 22 during the 2015 season. Alexander offers the athleticism and toughness needed for the position, but he also pays close attention to technique - his own and that of opposing wide receivers to better anticipate route combinations to shadow in coverage.

WEAKNESSES: He doesn't have the preferred height but offers excellent man-to-man cover skills. Playing mostly bail technique in college, Alexander will face a learning curve with different cover mechanics, especially in zone looks. He didn't record an interception in his career, but offenses were also hesitant to test his side of the field.

IN OUR VIEW: His athletic, compact frame gives him a build closer to that of a running back than most corners, but Alexander passes the eye test. He doesn't have the preferred height but offers excellent man-to-man cover skills and is described by coaches and teammates as a film junkie.

COMPARISON TO: Josh Norman, Carolina Panthers -- Alexander is a smaller version and doesn't have the same length as Norman, but they draw similarities due to their anticipation, confidence and brash attitude to get inside the head of receivers.

I have no problem with this pick @Boston Ram . We lost J.J. and had to tag T.J. and we could easily lose him next season. I didn't research this particular player but CB is ONE of the Ram's huge needs.

I picked Alexander over Apple because I think he better. He was the best CB on my board. Darron Lee was on my short list as well as Rankins and Dodd.

You can call it a blown pick but I have Alexander as the best corner in this draft. I guess we will see.

I hate going defense at 15 and want a QB dammit. That said, Alexander would probably be the best corner in this draft after a year or two under Williams. So I could live with it.

You think there's still a QB on the board worth the 15th pick in the draft?
