I'd love for the Rams to get Tyler Warren. He reminds me of Tucker Craft and Michael Mayer. But, he's no weapon like Brock Bowers so I probably won't be championing for a TE in the first round this year. They have just got to sign re-sign Alaric Jackson and hopefully a worthy CB falls into their laps in the first round.
I think it will come down to his 40 time. I've seen him projected for a 4.75 range, if that happens he'll be on the board until the 20s. Faster than that then he'll go a bit earlier.

But I also think he's better overall than most of the TEs that you see go in the 20s range. He's better than Craft or Mayer. He will step into the NFL and produce immediately because he's he's a big rangy bastard who is instinctive in the pattern and a mismatch for both ILBs and DBs. The dude would never be covered with a QB like Stafford throwing to him. I see him as more of a 15-20 range.

My fascination with him is that I am tired of having shitty tight ends. I'd like to see Stafford have a security blanket, and given that Kupp has been struggling since return from that injury (two years in a row now that has happened) means if they add a quality target like Warren that gives Stafford a security blanket over the middle and in the redzone.

The Michigan kid is a good option too. But I think Warren's gonna be a stud.

Honestly, I think I love Harold Fannin Jr. (Bowling Green) the most for what's going to happen. We may even have to trade a third to move up into the second to get him, but he's just a dominant receiver and YAC specialist who never goes down to first contact. Not a huge tight end (6'2", 240 lbs.), but hard to bring down, super-soft hands, extremely nuanced route runner, fast, physical, nasty blocker, able to move anywhere on the line, just everything except for the size. Honestly, if I had to go stylistically (and by that, I mean how he plays, not anything to do with character)...he's not much different than Aaron Hernandez. Possibly even what Gerald Everett was supposed to be for us, except better.

I could easily see McVay target him.

Look at the average yards per target.

I like Fannon too but he’s not a blocker from the game I saw him in. If he was the number 1 TE he needs to block in this offense.

Guess we will have to agree to disagree as I'm not so sure he's better than Mayer or Kraft.

Either way, if history has any say, it seems like Colston Loveland may be more of McVay's speed. He's much more fluid and closer to Jordan Davis, Gerald Everett, and even Tyler Higbee, IMO. Maybe even Fannin too. But the guy I think draftniks will be talking up more is LSU's Mason Taylor who just declared for the draft.

What's your opinion on the Bowling Green TE, Harold Fannin Jr.?

Haven't watched him. I try to watch the full games as much as possible, preferably cutups when available, and the smaller colleges tend to be harder to find film on.

I'll definitely watch all the TEs this year. Because I think it's a huge need for the Rams and it's a strong group supposedly. But I won't start on the film in earnest until after the bowl game season. Also after the Rams get eliminated.

Seems like when the rook center has a good game we win. I think Avila deserves some cred too. He improved a lot from his first outing where he looked like one of the hotdog vendors got pressed into action. :laugh3:

I just landed in Houston to tell you you are wrong.

You Lose Good Day GIF
Okay. We won’t agree on Bradford. You said the Coach doesn’t matter?

Kurt Warner was cut by Steve Marriucci. He signs with the Rams and Mike Martz, best QB in the game

You lost.

I don’t know about the other TEs you listed but in Warren’s case, he was the pass catcher that every team was focused on stopping and still couldn’t. PSUs receivers don’t scare anyone. It’s their run game and Warren….and they still couldn’t stop him.

Okay about the only thing I’m passionate about that I’m stubborn asf about is:

I think the worst mistake we ever done in my fandom years cut Warner and keep Bulger.

What say you and your dumb Nittany Lion ways? :laugh2:

Oh I sense an ‘no playoff for Michigan’ bitterness in your tone.

A loss of a battle yes, but a tactical win in the war my friend.

Hail, Hail to Michigan the Victors of the West!

But was it because his routes and separation was so good or was it more because he was featured and they move him all over the place?
