I think Not playing them hurts them. Keep them on a limit though like 2-3 quarters to keep them meshing well. I noticed when we dont play for certian periods we lose our grove. Kupp Especially. Hes way worse when hes out a week or two. Im for getting Wentz some reps in there with some of the guys. Robinson/Trammel Maybe Rivers?

If I had a choice, Id say Detroit is a better matchup.

That being said this isnt the same team that went to Dallas earlier in the year. We play our A game we can beat either.

And that is what I expect, us to play our A game.
Dallas is still the worst matchup for us I think. Their base rush is very good, and they can light up our secondary so in combination I think they're the team that puts us out almost for sure if we get them. But that said Detroit is also better than us. We're not likely to beat either but Detroit feels like a better matchup.

All that aside as you say the boys playing their A game is the key. This is really what it comes down to. We need a full team game for four quarters to advance no matter who we draw. So I'm good with whatever we end up getting. Most important is no injuries to key pieces for us in this final season game.

Dallas just beat Detroit by a point at home on a questionable call. If I had to choose, I’d play the Lions, but it’s not a big difference.

We should have beaten Baltimore while they BLASTED Detroit. So by that same logic, please god please let us play Detroit.

But that isn't how things work. At home Dallas is arguably the best team in the league.

For those that say rest - do you really not see a difference between playing @Detroit or @Dallas?? No difference between the 6 and 7 seed?
I agree with you in terms of matchup. Much rather go to Detroit.

For me though, a rested team and the health of our key guys is #1.

Also, I don’t think we win at SF no matter who we or they start this week. Just a gut feeling. It’s not a do or die game and the Rams are better when it REALLY matters.

Where we CAN beat them is later in the playoffs.

I don’t think your take is wrong at all. It’s just a matter of health vs matchup. I choose health.

Decision made it looks like - get in - get this done - and get out healthy, Puka.

McVay might wanna get Puka the rookie record. 4 catches and 30 yards should get him both receptions and yards.

I'd rest players. People talking about preferring Detroit, I'd rather play dallas.

However, lets say Detroit is McVay's preferred matchup. What you are asking, is for this team to play hard against a 49ers team they have never beaten, just for the chance to play Detroit. It's not a for sure thing. Where as with the Cowboys, we could start game planning now, watch the tape from earlier in the year, and give some players some much needed rest. I just don't see how flooring the gas pedal to beat the 9ers helps us as much.
I think Detroit's run D is much better than Dallas run D, but the roles flip on pass D.

Not surprised at both teams sitting starters. I thought it was pretty obvious, not sure why others thought otherwise. It's not very smart to risk starters more than need be although I understand trying to keep them from getting to rusty per se.

I just know #1 receivers feast on our defense. I don’t want Ceedee feasting
We can beat both but it just requires the Rams to play a solid, clean game. I could care less who we play. We just gotta bring our A game no matter what. Fuck both those teams. I'm not afraid to play either one.

I'm in agreement. Our offense has had problems with strong pass rush defenses. NY brought everything but the kitchen sink and you could see the difficulty with that. Dallas may not have to send extra guys all day. But, if by chance they do a good job handling the pass rush they could create problems for Dallas.

Detroit's passing game against our secondary is a mismatch. But we can move the ball on their defense. We might get knocked out by whoever we play. But I think we'd fare better against Detroit. If anyone knows Goff's tendencies McVay would.

Whoever we play, one thing I don't want is the other team with the ball in the final two minutes needing a field goal drive to win the game. I don't see our defense coming up with a stop in that situation.
