Everett is needed this year. If Higbee got hurt the Rams would be in big trouble without Everett. Hopkins needs at least a year to get up to speed while Mundt has limited ability in the passing game. Everett is going anywhere.

Agreed. keep our depth to over compensate for where we are thin (ILB, OC, RB if Henderson is out).

Oh and btw while we're talking potential trades I think Henderson may be a possibility. Because it makes it easier to fit in Jones.

Gotta disagree with you. I think Henderson is much better than Jones. Henderson has breakaway speed (4.49) and Jones (4.69) doesn't. Jones also doesn't get much if anything after contact. Henderson showed he will break arm tackles and good elusiveness. Jones is a decent backup RB but hardly a starter. Gurley showed the problem with having a single bell cow RB vs a solid rotation of RBs with whom the offense remains the same regardless of who is in. Akers and Henderson can take it to the house from anywhere on the field and that level of offensive threat isn't there with Jones. When LBs and safeties run 4.5 and 4.6, Jones won't scare anyone. There are reasons he wasn't drafted even in the late rounds. Until he proves otherwise he is what he looks like which is a decent backup RB.

As Henderson and Akers rotate the offense will not change. Both RBs will help compensate for possible blocking issues by the line. I don't think that will be the case when Jones is in. After a year of acclimating to the NFL and the offense, when Brown is gone next year then Jones will be a good #3.

I still say they should package Hill and Havenstein and trade to the Chargers who have multiple 3rd round picks next year I believe. Sam Tevi is a scrub of a RT so Havenstein would be a huge upgrade. The Chargers play a lot of zone so Hill also would be a solid addition to them. Move Edwards to RT where he belongs and Hill is probably gone next year anyway if not in the next round of cuts.

I don't think we're in too much disagreement here. Hendy's a good player no doubt (I've put up stills showing him making something out of nothing in limited reps in 2019) and note I'm not rooting for him to be traded just acknowledging it's a possibility if they really like Jones.

It's been in my mind a bit since he suffered that injury and there's a bit of a chain... He was Snead's pick, if the draft vid released at that time could be believed. He struggled to pick up the offense in 2019 according to Vinny. The Rams had to spend another valuable pick on a RB because of their lack of confidence in him (this is undeniable IMO). Then early in what should be a critical camp for him he gets a hammy. Followed by (and all we can go on is reports unfortunately) reports alluding to Jones showing very well including in his routes.

I guess just about anyone could be traded. This seems like a big stretch to me. The Rams spent another draft pick to replace Gurley not because they lack confidence in Henderson. McVay has mentioned at least a couple of times that Henderson has a full understanding of the offense. While Jones has had some recent success it hasn't been reported that he is lighting up camp. He got more reps because of Henderson's recent injury. I bet Henderson was as much a McVay pick as Snead if not more.

I still say that they could shock everyone and deal Troy Hill and save $4.5M off of the cap that can be pushed to next yr.. Abt $3.7M after they add his roster replacement.

Would likely net a mid round pick and you still have Ramsey, Williams, Long, Deayon, and Burgess.

Might even pick up a useable vet for the vet min.

Still think it makes sense. Could be the difference of being able to keep JJ next yr.

So would you rather have Hill for one yr or JJ for the next 5? Or maybe Everett breaks out and you can keep him or add an outside FA.

Need to push his cap room to next yr.
:ROFLMAO:
No way we get a mid round pick for Hill! You crazy man? We'd be lucky to get a 7th, maybe a 6th rounder.

The only thing that would cause me to trade Gerald Everett would be if a good young starting NFL center was in the offering.

Methinks if Brycen Hopkins showed them anything this off-season, Everett would probably be dealt this weekend.

Either way, while both are probably headed elsewhere in 2021, he'd be a cheaper slot option the Kupp next year.

You know when the lead comes from Twitter under the premise of "As I understand it", you know its got to be real

I would think that Snead is always burning inside to gather more than his four 2021 draft picks.

Snead only has 2nd, 3rd & 6th & 7th selections. There is a strong possibility that the NFL will award the Rams a 3rd round pick & possibly a 5th rd 2021 pick through the CDPA (Compensation Draft Pick Awards).

I don't think the Rams ever intended to trade Everett. There is no major monetary value and they would be giving away the very real chance to benefit from his best season. The Rams give away picks for talent and experience. They don't give away talent and experience for picks.

Cbs are valuable

Would you trade a 3rd or 4th rounder for Austin Blessuan?:ROFLMAO:

Enjoy looking him up.

Hill isn’t trade worthy and we’d be lucky to get a 6th for him. especially considering his contract.

Never said a 3rd...

I think a 5th, from a contending team, is doable and the key is losing $4.5M cap hit.

That gives you a shot at keeping Kupp, Ramsey& someone else next yr... Every dollar matters because it will be tight.

It's Blessuan Austin. CB out of Rutgers (and no, I didn't look him up; I remember him from an old mock of mine). Maybe you need to properly look him up. :P

Was that one of the mocks you made that you thought the Rams management made a huge mistake but not coming to ROD and drafting anybody you liked? :ROFLMAO:

So that guy that is starting for the Jets was drafted in the 6th round. I seriously have doubts that anybody would trade a 5th or higher for him, and we'd be lucky to get a 6th or 7th, and just to get rid of 4.5 mill?
