I love Sony's game but unfortunately McVay doesn't. His backs need to have pass game impact i.e. ability to catch and move in space, which actually makes sense since we can't open a fucking hole in most defensive fronts anyway. :laugh4:

I would definitely bring back Michel.

Neither Cam or Hendo and churn out the very difficult short yardage runs like Sony. It wasn't until we reestablished the run game that our offense got back the balance it needed last year.

Plus Sony is great at blitz pickup which the others aren't very consistent at.

Wow. Sony had 208 carries for 845 yards for us last year, a 4.1 average. For many games he not only felt like our best runner-- it seemed like we found our identity with him.

Just strange to me that Michel seems to have so little value, given how often he carried the Rams on his back in 2021.

Jake Funk or Sony Michel? No contest. Yeah Funk is good on ST, but purely as a RB.....?
I agree 100%.
Sony really paid off for the Rams in pass protection as well.
Picked up rushers all year long and saved a couple of huge plays in the playoff run.

Despite our top rbs being made of glass I hope Sony will be available if we do have to make that emergency call. Hoping we can have Akers and Hendy all season, but worried slightly

Agreed, and that's exactly why I loved having Sony. Seemed like Sony had a knack for churning out 2 or 3 yards even when there was nothing there. So instead of 2nd and 10, we'd have 2nd and 7.... we at least had the option of sticking with the run.

I doubt we add Sony. He played well here, but he wasn’t a McVay favorite… as he quickly pivoted back to Henderson and Akers when healthy.

I do think RB4 remains an open roster spot, and Funk could be in trouble if someone hits the waiver wire we like.

Yeah - ok. Rams should just bring back Anderson

I would bring him back.

Malcolm Brown is also looking for work...just saying.

Could see him getting the nod later in the season depending on the injuries with our RB depth

This.

I believe Sony had a near vet minimum with the Fins didnt he?

I like our top 3 RB’s but not their health history and I’m sure Hendo will go down sooner or later before the middle of the year.

Michel is priceless as a 3rd down back and picking up blitz pickups which the other 3 struggle with at times historically.

I wouldn’t mind replacing Funk with him after week 1.

Fuck, watching Sony tonight thinking about how we could use him right about now just like we could have the beginning of the season. smh

The more I watch the Gibbs kid from Bama, the more I drool about him being on our current squad. Does it all and has that burst we need. I'm not advocating taking a RB in the 2nd round, but damn

Les needs to find a back who McVay will put on the field. So one that has more passcatchy to him than Michel. If he can do that without giving up the 2nd rounder then he can use that for an edge boost or just go with what we have defensively and use that pick for a young playmaker.

I think if they can solve RB this offense will be enormously better. But of course they will be all over the edge market as well so it's going to be tough to find both midseason. I'd already rule that out in fact if we didn't have Snead/McVay but they have taught me to never underestimate them.
