The French Connection II

No subtitles for a movie that was mostly in French. and the very few that spoke English had a thick accent, so it was hard to follow. Gene Hacknan was great as ever.

Nosferatu

3.5/5

Good but my least favorite Eggers film to this point.
Me too.
I enjoyed it but overall didn't live up to the greatness of The Witch and The Lighthouse.
I really didn't care for how he chose to depict Nasferatu.
Subpar monster = disappointing monster movie.
I would be hard pressed to think of a more perfect match for a remake than Eggers and Nasferatu.
Eggers is brilliant but, I gave this about the same.....good but he has set a high bar for himself.

For us 50+ members, this film will ring a bell.

The Boys From Brazil. Just watched it last night. Wouldn't mind remake with current actors.

About the Wannsee Meeting where the Final Solution was put into motion.

Its a WW2 movie with zero action.
But, interesting dialog that was taken from the notes from the actual meeting. Scary and interesting.
Excellent, excellent acting all the way around.

Rami Malek was his usual great, he's got the cybergeek role stone cold
Otherwise I found it a bit meh
6/10
Is it possible for a movie to feel dragged out, but rushed at the same time? Would have made a great series IMO

I just rewatched The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy on Prime. Enjoyed it again 7.5/10. (The Girl Who Played with Fire, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest). The remake of the first film with Daniel Craig was ok too.

I'll probably wait till it comes to video on Prime. I liked the original 1981 movie with John Savage.

I really enjoyed this movie

even with the MCU stumbling over the last few years , I still went into this movie with high hopes

would I be disappointed once again ?

nope !!!

this movie instantly goes to the top of my all time favorite MCU films , even if my top 10 MCU films has about 15 films in it already...................lol

this film was actually darker and more serious then I thought it was going to be

when the first trailers starting coming out , I thought the tone was going to be more comedic , bust surprisingly , no , yes there is some of that Marvel comedy in it , but not nearly as much as one one think , David Harbour is great in this movie , actually , they're all great in this movie , and they all get their time to shine

Ghost might be the least explored of the main characters , but she gets some of the coolest scenes , the other 4 main characters are basically just super soldiers , where Ghost is the only with unique abilities

Florence Pugh as Black Widow is the main character , and she shines in the role , but like I said , the entire team has plenty to do

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is in the movie alot more then I was expecting , she had a few minor little parts in a few of the other MCU movies and TV shows , but she's really in this quite a bit , and she to was awesome

I don't want to give anything away , because this film is a little different then most of the MCU films , as it's more of a actual character film then most of the others

really looking forward to watching it again.......................and again

A strange movie but I enjoyed it overall.
Tried to be multiple things at the same time and sort of pulled it off.
Not a big Michael B Jordan fan so that didnt help, the rest of the cast was fine. He was solid too in a double roll, but, I just don't care for him.
It was ok.

Just been to see Ocean by David Attenborough. Should be compulsory viewing for everyone on the planet.

10/10

I have to imagine that the Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a part of that movie.

People everywhere: fucking recycle your plastic bottles.

Surprisingly not.

It’ll make you rethink your approach to eating commercially caught fish, especially scallops.

Yeah, true. But given the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, the whole fucking practice of shark fin soup (a barbaric and inhumane practice that I refuse to participate in. Gordon Ramsay's got my whole thoughts on it; it's a disgusting way to kill an animal that is already on the endangered list, and it's for something that isn't even that good.), the coral reefs slowly being bleached, sea otter populations decimated by oil spills and cat feces being recklessly disposed into water, amongst many, many, many other ways we're polluting a water supply we might eventually have to depend on, given the state of our freshwater pollution...well, I'm quite shocked that it's only about commercially caught fish and scallops.

But then again, if there was a movie about all of the destruction we've caused in nature, it would take twenty-four hours of viewing, and it likely doesn't have a happy ending.
