I wouldn’t mind a stud linebacker with the first pick. It’s the one piece the defense is really missing.

I recall a few years ago McVay really likely Owusu-Karamoah. So maybe they are more open to it than we think.

King really improved in his final season. Some people may be cool on him because he’s a late bloomer, but the real reason his game got so much better is coaching. PSU great LB Dan Connor joined the staff as an assistant and the entire unit started to play better. King isn’t much of a pass defender but he can play the run.
Yeah agree and he doesn't have the speed to be a great pass defender but he it almost elite against the run, plays very disciplined, disrupts rushing lanes, brings the wood and could be the green dot if needed.

Basa would be the 3rd or 4th round guy if I wanted a cover guy

Shutdown corner?
I think to get an instant shutdown corner in the draft, a team either needs to get lucky, or have a top fifteen pick.

I wouldn’t be disappointed if they took a corner with a bit of length.

I have a bad feeling that they are going to roll with Forbes and we will be screaming at him to tackle someone every game. Forbes has good coverage skills.

Or a player who should have gone in the top fifteen but has fallen.
Please Will Johnson or Barron! I know its 0% chance but, how good would Hunter be on this team? A shut down corner with Jefferson-like WR skills that McVay can use in a pinch.

If Johnson falls anywhere near “tradeable” distance, we should do our best to get him.

Same with Hunter, although I doubt he falls that far… sadly.
I’m always against using early picks on players with injuries. 5th round or later in that case

Hang on…

You wouldn’t take anyone, no matter how talented, with a history of injuries before the fifth round?

What about Gurley?
Nope. I didn’t want them to pick Gurley, even though I loved his ability. In the end his injury may have cost the Rams that 2018 Super Bowl, because he wasn’t in it.

They drafted two guys from Alabama that had injuries and neither amounted to much. It’s too much risk.

It's very easy to see how they can pass on an ILB or RB.
Yeah but with the TOP RB & MLB ?
If Campbell is there at 26 I’d be very upset, unless that easy player is there. IMO either will happen.

At 180 pounds and that skinny frame I can see him getting bullied by physical receivers.

I would have preferred to keep Gallamore, but Murch has been pretty decent... we needed a guy for the rotation so Murch, Davis and Johnson can provide some depth for us.
Very possibly a camp body who gets beat out by a rookie. Insurance for now.

Yes both spots and be upset all you want. You should know by now, we all should know, that they don't have the same vision for the roster or how it's built as us. Get over it most of us have, except for the fullbacks at heart. Just because you think they need a position doesn't mean that McSnead or Shula and LaFleur think that way.

I liked Gallamore too, but the Rams and DL Coach Gif Smith seem to like Murchison and a few others that were brought back from the practice squad in David Olajiga and Jack Heflin plus I expect a draft choice too.

However, I could see them adding two ILB's in the draft if they do not sign a veteran. Maybe a combination of Chris Paul, Jr., who is good in coverage and Penn State's Kobe King who is a run stopping machine. Would not be shocked if they signed former Titans LB jack Gibbens either post June 1st. Might not be ready until week 2 or 3 because of the ankle, but that is a move Rams seem to make.
