I'm not saying they added anyone. I probably should have worded it better so that's my fault. Its possible the Rams feel comfortable with someone on our current roster to take his spot or that they have the confidence to find someone else to add better depth to the roster than Hampton if they go that route.
The only spots to take were on ST and his bench spot the rest of the game. To me this is such a minor move.

I had no idea that people thought Hampton was so bad. I thought he was good on special teams and his 7 or 8 snaps on D I rarely saw anything terrible. A lot of anger directed at a backup.
I'm not angry at the guy lol, I just think he never showed much which sucks for him. He had time to do so, but it just didn't pan out. Would be interesting to see if McVay even hints at why but he's good at saying a lot and saying nothing all at once :laugh1:

I agree that it isn't a major move so honestly who knows what McVay is thinking. Looks like he's tweaking the roster from head to toe and leaving no stone unturned there?

Didn't say you.

And he's a 4th stringer guy who got what 8 snaps a game?

I know you didn't, I just simply responded cuz I do shit like that hahaha......as you said definitely a minor move. The more I read about it though makes me question if its IR players possibly coming back or Tutu actually being added back to the roster? Guess we'll eventually get some clarification once the Rams make their other moves

Tutu is the most likely answer imo. That said we've been pretty good at WR and have an excess now I think.

Yeah our depth is definitely good there for sure but maybe McVay wants to see if he can incorporate his speed if he's added back to the roster. I've stated multiple times my thoughts on Tutu's contract but adding/incorporating him into the offense successfully would definitely make our offense that much more versatile and dangerous.....at least that's the hope

I didn't put much energy into being upset with Hampton. I typically reserve anger for underperforming starters or very bad play. But...I do expect every player on the field to do something positive. For me, you have to do more than just not do anything terrible.

Hampton is basically a non-factor on defense, so I don't care one bit that he's gone.

You want to have a 4th Edge in case one of the top-3 go down.

I think Desjuan Johnson being active at AZ, playing throughout the game, almost exclusively at Edge and playing well (my opinion) were all interesting and positive factors,

The Rams also have an experienced-Edge on the Practice Squad in Jesse Luketa, who could be flexed-up.

Guessing one (or both) are active against the Lions.

And this may be a good game for that with all the problems Detroit is facing in their secondary.

That's what I don't get. Prior to the last couple days I put no thought at all to our 4th olb. Seems others worried about him. As well as Limmer and Dolic.
At this point I could give a flying fuck if they cut Limmer either. If that dude can't beat out Dedich as the backup then they can make him waterboy for all I care.

Only one of those that would irritate me to see him cut is Dolac. But I doubt they cut him because he's probably the best teams player of the bunch. Not like I pay attention to teams or anything, typically I'm getting a beer or some other shit during punts and kickoffs. But he's fast, aggressive, and a good tackler so I'd imagine he's a strong teams member. I'd rather cut Tutu. :laugh1:

Just as a follow-up to Desjuan Johnson.

I just watched the Coordinators' Thursday press conference, and Chris Shula was asked about Johnson, and his role. Shula said it 'depends on the week's match-up' but they see him as 'a guy they can move around'; and can 'play D-Line or on-the Edge'.

Crazy how far Limmer has fallen. Got knocked on his ass in the playoffs last year and never recovered.

The Rams love them some flexibility. It makes it a lot harder for the opposition to know what they are doing based on personnel. Offense or Defense. Plus I have heard Johnsons named called out on TV way more than Hampton. In fact I can't remember hearing Hamptons name.

McVay mentioned Johnson again earlier today during his Friday press conference. Very complimentary. Discussed his conversion to more of an Edge role, and how well he played on Sunday vs. the Cardinals.

Yeah, I wonder if he is still in their plans at some point. Seems like his mistakes were mental. You can fix that. I don’t think any of us expected McClendon to be the future RT, but now it looks like that is a real possibility. So you never know.

Most definitely, its exactly why the NFL stands for Not For Long since things can change so fast. Just when you think you know a player has great upside or is a sure thing, reality can sometimes destroy that notion. Sam Bradford, RG3, Wentz, etc.....there's long list out there for sure.
