Evans regressed horribly since his rookie year. That has to be, at least in part, on the coaching staff IMO. He was a pretty high draft pick with decent college pedigree. He is young and healthy. Not every player can hack it in the NFL, and not every draft pick hits, but players/prospects like that should not be getting significantly worse every year. Not if your coaches are doing their jobs. But that is what happened here and it will forever be somewhat of a curious case IMO. I think a lot of it was just his confidence being so beaten down vs. earlier in his career. So much of any pro sport is mental. Again, I blame coaching for that, at least in part, by continuing to trot Evans out there to get beaten like a mule when better options were clearly available (at times, not always due to injuries). He should have pulled out of the lineup, his game worked on, and a reset attempted.

I wish him well in his next stop, if there is one. His NFL career might be over. But if he was wise with his money, he should now be set for life! The man has earned millions and I do not think the problem was ever effort, so thanks for your services but it is definitely time to move on. Perhaps he can latch on as a depth or practice squad player somewhere else and, with the right coaching staff and time to work on his game and rebuild his confidence, can carve out a continued career as a depth journeyman. Who knows.

I don’t want to dance on the mans grave because he seemed like a good guy who genuinely cared. Jourdan had several times stated no one cared about his poor performance more than him (paraphrasing of course). So I feel bad for the guy and wish him well. But having said that, I have zero understanding of why he’s been on the team for years now. He failed almost every time he was given chance.

Evans struggled a shit ton his rookie season as well. It wasn't until McVay gave him help by having Higbee and Mundt help him block that our oline started to look a little better.

Look how long it took the Rams to understand that Blythe was a scrub. Now they are doing the same with Skura. Skura is another Blythe, i.e. marginally better than Evans and worst than Edwards.

Happy new years! Looking forward to next season! From worst to first. People are already writing the Rams off. IMO Stafford will go all out to get his second ring. In 2024 Mayfileld after being fully versed in McVay's offense will keep the SB window open for years.

Yeah, 2023 is the year of the rebirth of this team.

Kendrick was a STARTING CB as a 6th rd pick. Once again REALLY?

Kendrick is a Marcus Peters type of player. He's only interested in splash plays and the rest don't interest him. I'd cut the arrogant kid. But he's Morris' buddy so he plays ahead of legit talents like Durant and Rochell. Aren't you guys seeing it? He played Lewis even though he had Hoecht whom he really didn't know as a player. WTF? That's Raheem's job to know. Guys don't produce but he plays them anyway? It's strictly favoritism at the expense of the team. It fits right in with Raheem's notion that good enough is good enough. IMO if you want a championship team then good enough isn't good enough. This will never be a top defense with Morris at DC no matter how many HOF players are on the roster. With AD, Wagner and Ramsey this defense should be a top 5 unit. WTF is wrong with McVay?

Sean expounds upon Raheem being so smart yet it doesn't show in his coaching. That's why Brown will get his HC job before Raheem gets another. You don't think other FO looking at candidates don't see what a lackadaisical unit Morris puts on the field? His so called philosophy is supposed to prevent explosive plays but it doesn't. No more than a prevent is only effective in the final seconds. If an offense has more than one play remaining it's better to simply play a Tampa two with a DB in the midrange zone than Morris' prevent.

The worst part is that Morris has shown he can tighten down when he wants to. But instead on 3rd and long the majority of the DBs are behind the sticks!! WTF??!! Allowing the reception uncontested and rallying to make the tackle might work if the receiver has more than 3 or 4 yards to the line to gain, after the reception. But if your CBs are 10 yards off the LOS you are conceding the first down.

Break down Morris' scheme and most times it makes no sense. The problem with the D is the DC not the players.

I don’t understand some posters around here thinking cutting a 3rd rd pick after 2 1/2 seasons is waiting to long. Especially when the guy is injured all the time.

ANYONE THAT WANTS to BLAME RAHEEM MORRIS for Hecht success is crazy. That is why The Rams cut T. Lewis. He knew when to cut bait.

Not only did The Rams cut Lewis the also cut Hollins who is getting a lot of playing time if anyone watch the Green Bay Packers game. It was Joe Barry who knew him from Denver???

T.Lewis was a Ram 1 season before Raheem Morris was The Rams DC. If ANY RAM FAN wants to go back & ask Raheem Morris what he thought of T.Lewis just go back to training camp in 2021 when he almost cut him & or kept him on the bench or on on injured reserves longer. He made him earn his roster spot.Nit because he was a 3rd rd pick?

Hoecht not playing the edge? WTF? Ask Eric Henderson what he thought? Copeland has got more playing time & J. Williams got cut last season in favor was Hoecht because of his motor & can play special teams.
It was that tackle in The Superbowl that got Raheem Morris’s attention that he was more than a DT/DE.
