I've never really had much of an opinion on Baker before this season but fuck it I'm calling it now... I want him back next year as Stafford's backup and heir apparent!!
You can't tell me that McVay wasn't feeling it tonight after a win like that and Baker wasn't feeling the appreciation from a team that desperately needed a jump start after the rough start to his career on trash teams like the Browns and Panthers!

This is the most fun I’ve had with a Rams win since 1999 when they ended the 17 game losing streak to … not even going to spoil it by naming them.
Sure love how a Rams QB can throw it up to give the receiver a chance.

I was watching Mayfield's demeanor when things weren't going well. I liked what I saw. He's matured ..... something Kyler never will do. He was also going thru two and three progressions which on 48 hours prep is impressive. Again something he couldn't do early in his career.
No more ragging on Baker. He played tough gritty football and lifted this team when it needed it most. For that he earned my respect.

Fucking Skip Bayless is going to go fucking ape shit tomorrow morning over Bakers performance!

So I've said for a couple years now...the fact that we don't have 1st round picks...that puts us in a position where IF a QB fell out of favor with another team....and was starting to look like a bust...to see them come to the Rams,....with the team culture we have.... It would be interesting to see if McVay could rehabilitate a guy like that.
I thought it may be like a Mariota...a Tribisky... ..or maybe Darnold or even Zach Wilson....

The pressure was there though, inconsistent but it was there. It made Carr uncomfortable and sometimes the end result is an errant throw. We also tackled pretty well and kept things tidy. Well Done

One thing you have to wonder about as I watched Stafford interacting with Mayfield. Does Mayfield make it easier for Matt to retire after the season, knowing he wouldn't be leaving his team in a bad situation?
