NFL and Nike Launch Rivalries Program with new uniforms and fan gear inspired by communities
Apr 25, 2025 at 05:10 PM

Nike and the National Football League are announcing Rivalries, a new and exciting uniform and fan gear program that will give athletes and fans an opportunity to connect like never before. The program will elevate NFL rivalry games over the next four seasons, with specially designed Nike uniforms and fan gear. Rivalries will drive fan engagement by celebrating storied traditions and uniting communities with unique and elevated product designs.

"The NFL is home to some of the biggest football rivalries and today marks a historical moment for the NFL as we share 'Rivalries' with the world," said Renie Anderson, chief revenue officer at the NFL. "Together with Nike, we are harnessing the power of rivalry matchups to bring fan excitement and community pride to the next level. Through specially designed player uniforms and limited-edition fan gear, we will embark on a journey that inspires competitive spirit and reveals the winner in all of us."

The first wave of participating teams hail from the AFC East (Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and New York Jets) and NFC West (Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks).

Each participating team will wear a unique Rivalries uniform with designs rooted extensively in local community insights during a single home game against a division rival. The designs have been brought to life by pulling inspiration from the history of each market and the aspects of the community that only that team's city embodies. Following their reveal, these Rivalries uniforms will be included in their team's uniform lineup for three years after introduction, in addition to existing alternate uniforms. Teams from the AFC South and NFC North will debut their Rivalries uniforms in 2026, followed by NFC East and AFC West teams in 2027, and teams from the AFC North and NFC South in 2028.

This year's Rivalries uniforms will be revealed prior to the first rivalry game. Designated AFC East and NFC West Rivalries games will be announced at a later date following the 2025 NFL Schedule Release. Fans will be able to show their support by purchasing new jerseys, sideline apparel and fan gear, including T-shirts, hoodies, jackets and headwear. Nothing brings football communities together like a good rivalry. They make athletes better, teams stronger and cities more united. Rivalries jerseys and apparel will be available ahead of the first rivalry game at Nike.com, NFLshop.com, Fanatics.com, individual team stores and other retailers. Rivalries jerseys and apparel will also be available across Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia NFL Shop sites and select international retailers.

White and blue old school throwbacks. We already have blue/yellow and white/yellow/blue. White/blue is all that is missing!

If they won't do white/blue, I wouldn't mind a navy/gold 3rd jersey, as homage to St. Louis, or a pure yellow similar to the color rush jerseys. I

would still buy a black jersey but it wouldn't be my preference.

I suspect black is what they will do. I have noticed more and more Rams merch at nflshop.com is black, or has black in it. Plus, it seems every team feels it needs a black jersey for some reason. And the twitter post above is in black and white. But my view on black is that unless it is a main colour for you, like the Steelers, it just feels off.

I fear that's where they're going. Would HATE HATE HATE a black jersey on the Rams it's not their colors and I'd never buy it and if someone gave one to me free I'd ebay it. Just NO to black alternates.

I loved the Philly and SF games he won for us. Was excited to get those in my game collection a few years ago. Even the 2 losses were good to see again. I wasn't all in on getting him I was a wait and see guy, and as we know it didn't pan out he was just too injured and slow. They were hoping his exp would be the difference in a SB run.

I like those all white with white horns but throw some accent sol yellow trim in areas of it. Also a blue jersey with light hints of yellow would be fire. All blue and white is just boring.

Dark navy blue like the old helmets on both the helmets and jerseys. With reflective gold horns, numbers, etc.

Call them the "Hollywood" look. :fire1:

These uniform threads are kinda miserable. The Rams have just completely botched every aspect of this.

• Breaking the legendary horn into two pieces on the helmet

• The awful gradient jerseys that have completely run their course and barely match

• Inaccessibility to majority of players jerseys

• New “alternates” being relagated to once a year and three years later we still don’t have an actual alternate jersey

Just a disaster all around.

This seems destined to be lame.

I mean, if we're doing rivalries, with "insights", might as well aim below the belt, right?
Like, give me crosshairs and the words Gunning for Ricky Pearsall underneath.
Or a chalk outline with the words (Almost) Brian Stow.
49ers Wanted poster - wanted for genocide or something.

Yeah, the Nike idea of community insights, etc., will probably be something like:

Yeah, this is gonna be bad.. I can just feel it. The Rams have to have one of, if not THE corniest marketing teams in football.

The whole "Rams house" thing is so lame.... And does anyone remember the "Rams Rules" from the STL days??? Ugh.... and seriously, how did they ever think gradient numbers were going to catch on??

How Dare You!
Sure there have been some swings and misses ... but there have also been the success stories.

Who can ever forget the Rams' cheerleader Pom Pom Mom ...

Look close, the new uniforms have gradient! Strike 1 already. I don’t know if the club or Nike chooses that, but someone needs to be put in a dunk tank.

Everything you said is matter of opinion, which your entitled to, except this. You could go onto nfl shop right now and get a jersey of any player you could want. Whose jersey are you unable to buy?

Anyway I guarantee most you will hate what they come up with. I have a feeling the NFL is going to do something very very different. Similar to what MLB and the NBA have done with the ‘City Edition’ and ‘City Connect’ jerseys - it’s not gonna be a traditional “Rams” jersey - prepare yourselves!

What if they are putting a huge shadow over our current uniforms to mess with us though?

It's a cash grab by the league, so there's going to be zero edge to it.

This is from the Rams IG account. It might just be the Blue uni gray scaled. If not, it looks dark (possibly black) and gradient numbers.

I really like those gray Dodger type colors. I was going to post that if no one else did. Want something different. I'd like to highlight those with some white or even play with the shades of gray just to see what it looks like.
Flip the helmet colors (blue metallic helmet/platinum metallic horns) and I’m ALL in.
