Durant is practicing at star position which is SCB because they are being careful with Tomlinson who is coming back from a hamstring injury in OTAs. We all know that hamstrings can linger all season if the coaching staff isn't mindful. IMO when healthy Tomlinson will be that SCB. I expect Durant and Witherspoon/Rochell to be the starting boundary CBs this year. Kendricks so far has been a liability with his subpar CB speed and most of all his inconsistent effort. IMO Witherspoon was signed for that exact reason.

It's going to be interesting how and if Morris allows Pleasant and Lake to coach the DBs to play aggressively. Zone defenses if played aggressively, i.e. jumping routes at the top can be very tough to play against. It takes speed and quickness, something lacking in Kendrick. I'm sorry but his Ole' effort against Deebo doesn't get a pass from me. Kendrick always looks good in practice but not so much in games.

Right now the Rams have a pretty good edge rotation with Young/Hampton and Hoecht/Mathis. I think Fuller makes the roster but is gone next year unless he has a lights out season.

McAllister continues to look good and draw praise. He could give them an option to both Shelton and Allen in 2024, though experience counts and I think the Rams would be remiss if they didn't keep one of either Shelton or Allen next year.

If this OL comes together like I think they could, this would be a very formidable offense. The Rams now are deep at RB, WR and now they have a legit backup QB2. Though I could see them keeping Rypien on the roster or at least the PS.

I really think the Rams are going to surprise a whole lot of people this year. I can see 10-7 or 11- 6 easy.

I am curious about Cam's comment regarding his weight being "way up" @ 5'10 and usually listed between 215 -218 what does that mean? Could he be 230, seems unlikely with his frame but maybe 225ish?
It would be in the 5-10lb range. That's a lot if it's majority muscle.

Akers is listed on the Rams site at 5'10, 217, but I doubt that is based on his current weight.

The guy I'd be curious about is Hoecht, who is listed at 6'4, 310, but must be lighter than that now that he's looking to play EDGE.

Yeah Hoecht will need to be lighter this year for the contain. And then will he lose that power he showed.

I think he may be a solid strong side edge if he can fix that contain. Pulling for him.

I believe Cams frame can easily hold 12-15lbs. 230 isn’t out of the realm.

Those dummies have had that head for years. They don't look like McVay at all. Back in 2011 a former boss of mine (worst boss ever) used to put one of those dummies inside the front door of his business. He would walk in and just punch and kick the shit of it for several seconds. Had a little uncontrolled aggression, one of his many negatives.

McVay's funny though for playing along here.

Hoecht played in college and as a rookie at about 285 lbs. He ran his 4.6 40 yd time at that weight. Since his move to edge I have always assumed he would drop back to his "normal" weight range of 280-290 lbs. He doesn't necessarily sacrifice power in that range because he showed as a rookie he had a great combo of speed and power. At edge it's more about technique for a guy like Hoecht. With a full year of experience and now a second year with a full TC at edge I think he should impress. His agility and quickness was clearly evident at that weight as well.

Young and Hoecht look to give the Rams two good edges heading into the season. He had 4 sacks last year as a completely inexperienced player playing at a weight he was asked to gain to play inside at 3T. Now if he reverts back to his original rookie weight he could be even more impressive given his improved experience. People are sleeping on Young and Hoecht and they shouldn't. With Donald inside and Murchison playing NT on passing downs they could have a good 4 man rush.

I think Turner will be Donald's rotational player as he's expected to play 3T when AD retires. It's one of the reasons I'm expecting the D to be better than most assume. They will have a good rotational depth on the front with Hampton, Mathis and Turner. They should be able to keep their starters fresh and hopefully reduce injuries because of it. This roster has better depth than their 2021 Super Bowl roster.

I HATE when people evaluate & then leave a big piece out of the mix because there forsite gets blind.
You’re an excellent poster but I’ll continue to BANG on EARNEST BROWN’s chest to Step Up! That’s if you’re looking for a player to impress.
Examples are Morgan Fox,Gaines as examples of players that will step up their 3rd season.Go back to the last few games of last season.
-/I’ve been to every training camp since(before) The Rams came back to LA.Oxnard included. Just talking from experience of watching these players.
-Johan Williams is another guy who showed up last season with Hoecht.
Copeland is a player out of those 3 that has got the most playing time & making the most CASH!!

I think Ram Fans & poster listen to the media & forget about who really are from the 53 man roster from a SQUAD of Departed. This are the survivors.

Add watching Bobby Brown in training camp showed me a lot. He played through pain & made some big plays during practice. That effort I don’t over look.
—His rookie season coming out of OTA’s(SOFI) thought he was going to have a big rookie season. Coming out of OTA’s to training camp seems to be tricky.
Jacob Harris is an example of high high, then low low because of injuries.

Earnest Brown already proved he's a good MIKE LB. The question is not whether he's good but who will play around him? With the Rams being very deep at OLB, they could play a lot of one ILB (Jones). Johnson is listed as a OLB but he plays better inside which would make him an ILB.

Bobby Brown was drafted because Morris wants to play a Fangio style read/react DL with a 0T NT. Gaines was allowed to walk because of Morris. Gaines is a damn good 1T NT but Morris insists upon playing soft on early downs so he wants Brown to play a 2 gap 0T NT. In that scenario, Bobby Brown is simply a blocker eater counting on the LBs behind him to make the plays. Morris could play Mathis as a WIL behind Hoecht which would give Jones support on run downs. Morris could also play Hampton as a SAM OLB in the same way Philips used Ekubam. Why? Because with a WIL and SAM playing with OLB they have better physical size to play contain for the many mobile QBs the Rams will face. It would also take away those short dumpoff passes.

It will be interesting to see what defensive alignment Morris trots out there in TC. I've pointed this out in other posts so I didn't feel the need to belabor the point.

Ernest Jones or Earnest Brown ?
It’s all confusing.

Going to a couple days of training camp.Just to get out there and get a feel for the team.

Mcvay said don’t worry about who is on 1st or 2nd team. That said players will standout.

WHO ?? Have to start trying to get the numbers right.

FUNNY MCVAY named DK as a player who is balling out already.
Went to trying camp last year & saw him standing out in practices.Going against Allen Robinson.A couple days later Mcvay gave him props.
—Can take that Morris hate & eat it.

Noteboom is going against A.Jackson for LT spot. There asking Boom to get after a little more.I think he will have a good season & be the starter.

I think not even being there you can see my vision.

Cooper Kupp Day 1 training camp is already making those hards cuts.

AD99 looks GREAT!! Quick as EVER!! Then like I’ve been posting THE SPONGE #90 is right there next player up in drills.
EARNEST AKA The Sponge Brown is moving up the ranks.

Old school,Oldnotdead,Jake need to keep an eye on this guy. He’s like a VETRAM now.

Stafford & Higbee look good.

Stenson Bennett looks bigger than I thought he would.

—That’s training camp in a nutshell basically. The Offensive Line way back was my favorite to watch. Now they make it so hard to get close to them.I run around like a kid in a candy shop.
—The Rams camp is so Fa Friendly.Dallas & San Diego’s California sites not so much.Chargers had a free drink booth that was excellent.Synergy??

I get excited on this stuff.Been to NBA training camps.Use to be held at UCI & Long Beach. The Rams in the 70’s practiced in LBC.

Point is ascending players & draft picks. Here is a 6’3 300lbs DT #95 in Bobby Brown who is still ONLY 22 Years of Age!!!

I’d sign him for another 4 years now.Joking aside no joke.GM’s from back in the NBA & NFL would predict Draft on 1 player basically.

The NFL draft & say a Jr QB would make how much ?? Dmark Russell should have been sent back into the draft.
I’ve seen a lot of BAD picks in my time.

Bobby Brown though right now would be a 1st.Rd Draft Pick on a 5 year deal just to make a comparison. He has (2) 1more season & if you add 3 more years he’s worth it.

My point with locking Can Akers & Van Jefferson NOW you’re telling them they’re your FUTURE!! They should be on a 3(plus 1) year deal guaranteed.

—Win - Win !! I’ll keep preaching it.

With all due respect, you keep forgetting about punt returns, if the Rams keep a WR for punt returns IMO, McCutcheon will not make the team.
