Uh oh. Did someone get hurt and we haven't found out about it yet?

Hate they had to involve that 4th rounder. If the season goes south, a high 4th rounder could have some value.
Yeah, that was my first thought too. If we need to move up to get our QB of the future picks like a high 4th are going to be valuable.
At any rate, as always, in McSnead we trust!!

He's listed at 321 pounds. Started 30 games in 3 years. Not bad for depth. I'm guessing they like his size for the run game if he has to come in. Only lose one round from 4th to 5th in this trade. Seems like this year is all about the offense for them. Its gonna need to be a top ten offense to offset the defense.

Looks like he's only played LG in the NFL but played mostly RG in college.

I though he was a Mike Munchak recommendation at first, but Munchak had already left Pittsburgh when he was drafted.

Rams 4th to Steelers 5th is a big jump for a backup.

It’s all good if he is if he ends up being the right guard
We will once again own, absolutely OWN, rds 5 & 6 of the 24' NFL draft.

Currently they have two 5ths & five 6ths!

So a lot of ammo to add a few guys that they feel they might not get on waivers or for a vet that is released.

Interesting, only thing I don't like about it is he's only got one more year on contract. I'd hate to trade for depth just to lose them in a year. See if this is a start to some other changes or trades.

The Steelers like linemen who are good at moving themselves around and Dotson was much better at moving other people.

By far the best Steeler to run behind on short yardage in recent memory and capable of stoning defenders 1 on 1 in passing situations when his assignment was clear, he lacks some fire, lateral movement, range and scheme smarts but could be a success in LA if they can use him to his strengths.

Kevin Dotson, I wish you luck.

P/S: another great deal by Khan to get something back for a player without much obvious trade value.

So long and thanks for all the fish. Our potential franchise QB suffered a pair of concussions because of Dotson’s inability keep his assignments straight, and after multiple disastrous weeks in a row he had the audacity to tell the media he thought he was playing well. He also essentially rolled over without a fight when Seumalo came in and moped to the media about it, a sharp contrast from Dan Moore’s approach when the team took Jones.

Speaking of which, with a competent guard next to him he suddenly looks like a decent tackle. Huh. Dotson also wound up in the coaching staff’s doghouse multiple times…I could keep going but I’ll stop. Maybe a change of scenery is what the guy needs to finally succeed and I’ll begrudgingly wish him good luck but he was a lackluster player for the Black and Gold and his questionable attitude and work ethic didn’t do him any favors. I can’t say I’ll miss him.

Bottom line, we had 3 years of his services which, like it or not, was often the best option we had at LG.
This trade got back the 4th rounder we used on him and only cost us a 2025 6th after washing out the swap of a 2024 5th for a 2025 5th.

Bravo Mr. Khan!

Very inconsistent and capable of drive killing penalties.

Yeah, I'm just reporting what they reported. Hard for me to square the circle on this one. Though I think the chance of Bruss being cut and an attempt to put him on the practice squad just went way up.

OL depth is a positive. Might compete for a starting job.

After such a bad season last year it looks like the Rams learned their lesson and are shoring up the depth of the Oline.

Sucks that we may still be trying to reconfigure our o-line with the season opener right around the corner. Obviously the Rams felt an interior depth upgrade with better upside was needed. Guess its better to try to do something now though.

Yeah, this trade made me wonder if there's some anxiety over what happened last season.

Jourdan has the rams keeping AJ - Avila - Shelton - Boom - Hav
with Anchrum, Allen, McClendon and Bruss as backups in her 53 list right before this.

Hard to see the Rams keeping 10 here when they have so many other needs for depth elsewhere and when there are guys like Acuri who could easily land on the practice squad. So if Dotson takes a spot, I have to assume it's Bruss's.
