I didn't bother reading the whole thread, so I apologize if this was already brought up. Last season the Rams had 9 home games and SF had 8 so I am assuming the up coming season it is the opposite. Which makes the fact that this is one of our 8 home games and leaves SF with their 9 untouched quite fucked up. The league really does like to pile on the challenges on the Rams.

Nope, the NFC had 8 home games in '25, they get the extra home game in '26
So the Rams still will play 8 reg season home games in Sofi along with all their playoff games & Superbowl

The Rams/9ers rivalry is so old and contains such emotional vitriol, it’s practically “Americana”. It’s a slap in the face to both 9er and Ram fans that this game is not only away from home(s), but in a foreign country.

This is a sports rivalry built on hatred, fear, and jealousy. Each team has…
I don’t need to detail the rivalry to THIS board.

To quote Fenwick:
Tis sacrilege for Christ’s sake.

working with a telco company called Optus
I left England in Oct ‘98 with my mate to go to Australia for a year. I had a working visa. When I got to Melbourne I needed to work and temped for Optus. I stayed in flinders street backpackers and worked in King William Street. My job was downloading addresses and posting cd’s to people so they could use the dial up internet. They were in direct competition with Telstra. Thanks for reminding me, a nice bit of nostalgia.

I counted the games on ESPN site. They have the Rams with 9 home games which include the Jags Egland game. Thinking back I thought that was a home game for the Jags. That must be it.

It makes total sense, the NFL wont put a franchise in Canada because of the Canadian Football League
The 2 leagues over the years have had formal and informal partnerships to ensure one doesnt affect the growth of another
Both can co-exist IMO, I know I support both feverishly. I actually have season tickets to my local CFL franchise - though I concede I am a far bigger football fan than most. Their respective seasons actually don't overlap for a good % of the sports calendar too. The CFL pre-season to end of regular season runs from May to October. Grey Cup is in November, as well as some playoff games.

But that is why there is no NFL team in Canada

So that was a home game for the Jaguars. Last season, the AFC got 9 home games. This season, the NFC gets 9 home games.

This year our home games are:

Seahawks
Cardinals
Cowboys
Giants
Packers
Chiefs
Chargers
Bills
Niners - Australia

The 5th AFC game is the one that flips each year home/away - last year we played at Baltimore, this year we play the Bills at home

NBC PFT saying they might start the season a week early in Australia? Meaning just the Rams/Niners game that weekend

Haven't seen this posted yet, if so ignore.

I'd wager it's on Friday. The Squawks will start the season on Thursday night and we'll play Friday. Last year the Chefs and Renters had a Friday night game in Brazil.

Guys, I'm thinking, based on this report, there's a REAL chance, our Melbourne, Australia game is played the Sunday before the usual Thursday Night Kickoff Opener. Would completely take away the pain of having to play a game Down Under, for both GOING and COMING.
