OK I think you've sufficiently succeeded in confusing me. Are you suggesting the game will be played before the opening weeks Sunday and then not televised until that Sunday?
Lol, yeah its hard to talk about given the "time travel" aspect of things. The USA Pacific coast is 19 hours "behind" Melbourne.

I have heard some suggest that the game would be played in Melbourne mid-day Monday Sept. 7th (televised live in the USA on Sunday evening Sept. 6th).

I personally am of the opinion that it would make sense for the game to be played in Melbourne on mid-day Saturday Sept. 12th (broadcast live in the USA on Friday evening Sept. 11th.)

Others have suggested that the game would be played mid-day in Melbourne on Monday Sept. 14th (broadcast live in the USA on Sunday evening Sept. 13th).

There are pluses and minuses to all of the possible dates.

Regardless, my understanding is that the NFL still plans on televise a Thursday night game in Seattle (opponent TBA, not the Rams) on September 10th.

And yes, all games will be broadcast live of course.

The magic of time travel makes it confusing for sure. The NFL works its ass off on the scheduling, so I'd be surprised if any team gets a noticeable advantage or disadvantage regarding the timing of this game. Hope so, anyway.

EDIT: Just now saw the report that it will be on a Wednesday or Thursday

Update. Wednesday or Thursday

Yes, this makes perfect sense.

A game televised in USA on Sunday September 6th would have given the Rams and 49ers essentially an "extra" bye week and been unfair to other teams.

A game televised in USA on Sunday September 13th would have been unfair to both Rams and 49ers by depriving them of adequate rest afterward.

So a mid-week game is the way to go, and what I thought would happen. (My main point was that a "mini-bye" was the best solution.... I thought it might happen 2 days later, but I'll say I was close enough) :zany:

Yeah I was thinking they play Friday but a Wed/Thurs makes sense too. I never understood the playing the weekend before. They'd have to adjust a bunch of stuff.
