Wait... HOW DID YOU ONLY WORK FOR 40 YEARS?!?It seems funny to talk about 3.2 million dollars like it is chump change, I worked for forty years and did not earn that much money.
He allowed one sack and was a road grader in the run game. He’s no Trent Williams but at 19 it’s not likely the Rams will easily replace him with a rookie and a veteran under 10 million won’t be a likely upgrade.Jackson was below average last year. We can easily find a replacement level LT in FA or the draft.
I want him back because he's cheap and we can win with him starting - but I would want him as cheap as possible.
Above average, imo.. but, like you say.. no Trent Williams. He allowed one sack and was a road grader in the run game. He’s no Trent Williams but at 19 it’s not likely the Rams will easily replace him with a rookie and a veteran under 10 million won’t be a likely upgrade.
Isn’t that good enough ? That’s what The Rams always do.I believe if a team signs him, we get a 2nd round pick in this draft so doubt it has any part of the comp formula.
CORRECTION - They put original round tender on him, which is the problem. He was UDFA. We only have right to match offers.

Below average, really? He played pretty well to my eye and way better than many average tackles in the leagueJackson was below average last year. We can easily find a replacement level LT in FA or the draft.

“I’ve been really pleased with the way he’s played, especially since the bye,” coach Sean McVay said of Jackson. “I think there’s been a focus. There’s been a concentration. There’s been a consistency, snap in and snap out. He deserves a ton of credit for the work that he’s putting in and how he approaches every single day. He certainly has the ability, but I think it’s most importantly the work that he’s put in and the way that he is just continuing to push himself.” SM
Alaric Jackson is getting a pricy homecoming in Detroit after his breakthrough season with the Rams
Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson has stabilized Los Angeles' offensive line and provided steady protection of Matthew Stafford's blind side this season.apnews.com
Agree.Nice, it might backfire but we'll see. I like AJ but it's not like he was elite last season. But he's good enough I'm good with rolling with him... trust him more than Boom at least. Would be happy if we are able to nab one of the top LTs in the draft though,.
This might tell you that the Rams are targeting a LT in the first round of the draft.
Let's hope so.Dotson's contract and Jackson's tender seems to suggest an OT is the main target at #19.
Where did you see that? One other possibility: Smith is scheduled to visit opening day of FA.
Either that or.....They must be really confident that his market price is well under the 4.9 mill per that the 2nd round tender pays
I think they could be but I don't think this move necessarily indicates that. They could easily sign Tyron Smith for one year and tender Alaric to be the backup. This might tell you that the Rams are targeting a LT in the first round of the draft.
Whoa! Where did you see that? One other possibility: Smith is scheduled to visit opening day of FA.
